First set: Dust in the Wind and The Pretender!

Latest set: After seven years of vigorous drum practice in the high mountains of the West I still can not properly play the drum beat of System of Down. That's why I love the song, and everything else about it is nice too.

2. Avenged Sevenfold - A Little Piece Of Heaven
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VurhzANQ_B0
- This song is the perfect definition of musical masterpiece. A musical comedy with awesome rock beats. I LOVE IT and it's my favorite A7X song.

Mr Minio
07-24-15, 08:35 PM
I used to love A7X, but I no longer listen to them, because they are too mainstream and fancy hipsters who love underground unknown music hate them, so I have to hate them, too. Haha, kidding, but yeah, I still give their best albums 3.5/5 on RYM, so perhaps this is a proof I'm not a snob. I'm just listening to them again and enjoying the music. :)

I liked to play their songs on my guitar. Especially this one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KKa3BYIcfwU

I remember constantly playing the guitar harmony part of Bat Country:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D51lLswU8t8

Only to never master it (I could play it, knew the notes, but still was pretty sloppy, especially at the end, when the fast part comes). Then I gave up guitar and now I'm back to playing it, but I never really dedicated a lot of time to it and I often ceased to play for days, so I only play guitar for fun or to kill the stress, or play some easy movie soundtracks, or try to decipher them by ear, or what not.

On the subject of growly metal, my friend showed me this band, Arch Enemy. Ever hear of them, Derek? The growler/singer is a chick! I used to love them, but just like with A7X and all that 'modern metal' stuff, I no longer listen to this kind of music. If you like them, try The Agonist, well, Agonist's singer is now singing for Arch Enemy.

The band is actually America. It's one of my very favorite songs, and I might have included it on my own "Top 40" songs. And I just recently found out that's not Neil Young singing it...sheesh, it sounds just like him, and if you do a search online, you'll see many, many others are equally mistaken.
