View Full Version : Who remembers their very first MoFo Post?
Simple question really. Who here remembers what their very first post on this forum was. And even what was the thread about?
I actually remember that far back. It was 15 years ago this month and it was a thread on television animated characters' famous quotes that stand out. My exact post was...
"Eat My Shorts"
It says in my profile that the first post I made was in the Things that annoy you - the official thread but no.... that's not true. Especially since it said the post was made on September 14, 2014 and I joined in July of 2010. lol.
So do you remember your first post?

I've edited it since but it was the first post in my reviews thread.
I started the thread as my first post.

I sure do remember it...not word for word of course. First thing at MoFo, I created a new to the site thread and said:
Hey everyone, I'm brand new here and thought I would introduce myself.:)
My friends call me Rules. And yup my avatar is the one and only Orson.
And I like movies, (which isn't to surprising, I suppose.)
Did I mention I don't have TV? Crazy...I know. but I only watch stuff on DVDs.
I'm glad to be here, it looks like an interesting site with lots of interesting topics and posters!

My Pool thread is only a few months old.
I started here in Jan 2012.

Wasn't my first post (and also thread) "Mr Minio Here APPLAUSE PLEASE!"? I'm pretty sure it was.
I think posts are deleted after like a certain period of time, people's posts are missing in their list of posts on their profile.

Just had a look, the system goes back only 40 pages which is the most recent 1000 posts.

I have no idea what my first post was. Probably something bad about Blade Runner or something.

Yup, you can only go back 1000 post, older post links are deleted from the profile page. But if you remember the thread you can still find your post that way.
EDIT: Rodent beat me to the punch on the answer:D
Some of my way older posts I like to skim through, Thank God for Google's MoFo search engine. ;)

It was probably a post about Django Unchained in one of the threads about the movie, as I registered shortly after I saw it

I don't remember the exact post, but I spent my first night on here reading through the unanswered questions in the Movie Questions section, and answering a bunch of unanswered questions, so I know that it was an answer to somebody's unanswered question about a movie title that they couldn't remember.

The 1966 directed Sergio Corbucci film? Probably. Or just liked free and open source web application framework.

He was being snarky about something I posted about the movie Death to Smoochy and I got overly defensive about it.

Yeah I remember it like it was yesterday...
A week goes by so fast
This wasn't the first one, but it was the first day. Before this post, I got suckered into answering one of those threads where you think it's addressed to you, but really it's only addressed to the naive. I couldn't find it though.
I hope this is the right place to post an Intro, but it's starting to seem like maybe it's not. :o
Hi, everybody! I'm a movie nut who hangs at a few other sites. Well, today, I broke down and posted here. Now, it's not like I'm a snob or anything. I usually find myself too busy to go to new forums, but I already know some of the people here from another forum, so I just went for it.
I'm OLDE! That "E" should be a giveaway. One benefit olde people have is that they were sometimes exposed to movies long ago which are not readily available, even to this day. On the debit side of that equation, it also means that, yeah, I've seen movies that aren't on DVD, but often I saw them edited on TV or even at the theatre, since '60s and '70s foreign films were regularly released here in the U.S. in butchered forms.
Anyway, I hope to make some new friends and get in some lively, yet friendly debates about movies and whatever else you guys discuss here, which I imagine to be everything. If I seem to disappear for awhile, just send me a PM or something because I do want to find even more comrades in film.

I remember. I was making the stills, to the movie picture game that you all played. Well, some of you. Anyway, I finally joined, and took it over. My first game was on a Friday the 13th, so I used those movies for the game. It truly thrilled Holden. :| He used that game to judge/decide that I had crappy taste in films. He found out later that all the games were mine, so I actually owned numerous films, and we were the only two that knew about a few of them. The only thing that bothered him after that, was the crappy quality of my VHS stills. I tried! :p

Neither have I. Who are you again!?!
