In case you hadn't heard, Powdered Water mentioned in the Shoutbox today that he lost his index finger on his left hand yesterday somehow.

Yeah. I lost most or possibly all of my left index finger. Doing ok. I decided it was much more pratical to adapt to life without it rather than to constantly live with aches and weird sensations from a half dead finger.

Crazy. A day of firsts yesterday. First accident. First surgery. First real injury of any kind. Hopefully I can go another 43 years before I lose another finger.

Yeah, so don't have surgery if you can avoid it. 4 days of fever and a really nasty cold/flu like bug of some kind later and now I finally feel human again.

So what had happened was, I was trying to throw out a battery powered lawnmower that I couldn't get to work. Well, apparently it worked just fine. It had sat for well over a year and I had no way to charge it. I got it into my truck just fine but when I tried to unload it... Bam! It started up with left hand under it and I came a split second away from losing my whole hand. I mean this thing fired up full blast! It waz the craziest thing thats ever happened to me. Never had an accident. Only broken one bone. Just a very safe person for the most part. Its the cosmic lottery coming home I guess. To say I got lucky is really quite true. Wow.

Honestly not sure. I assume I hit the button but just can't be sure. The stupid thing was all folded together and stuff to, so I would have thought that maybe some kind of safety would be involved when its in storage mode so you don't like trip on it or something and the damn thing starts up.

I must say though, now that my hand is truly feeling better, my middle finger is already filling in nicely. They say its much easier to adapt to a pointer finger missing than a pinky. You lose a lot of hand strength if you lose your pinky. And Iby they I mean the intrawebs of course.

If at all interested it needs to be noted that not only did Sexy find a great avatar but the movie that it comes from is also one of Peter Jackson's best films. Sure, he did that little "Long walk movie" but he's also done some terrific off the grid stuff too.

For example: Braindead/Dead Alive (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103873/). A movie so bad it has two names just to try to confuse you into watching it again because it just might not be that horrible flick you saw by accident and now can't un-see.

First of all, I saw Dead Alive back in 2008, I believe it was. Good film. Crazy.

It took awhile to find a good GIF of a lawnmower blade spinning around.

Something kind of warm and fuzzy inside me when I think about zombies and lawnmowers. I often wonder how I will ever be able to conceal my excitement if ever the zombie apocalypse comes...

Something tells me you may not win the fight in a zombie apocalypse -- now you're already closer to being a zombie since you have missing body parts. If you could just find some way to conceal the smell of your brain (or live flesh, whatever the zombies are gonna eat), all you'd have to do is groan and hold up your hand with the missing finger to confuse the zombies into thinking you're one of them. It'll be like Fake ID to show you're a zombie.

You could also get a weapon installed where your missing finger is -- kinda like Ash in Army of Darkness with his chainsaw for a hand. Or, more recently, Tara Reid in Sharknado 2. She has a saw hand.
