Anybody here on Spotify? I've just recently started using it, and so far it ain't too bad.

I had it on my last computer (still haven't gotten around to re-installing it). Pretty useful for the most part, though I wasn't about to spring for the premium ad-free version. Selection of music is generally good but it doesn't quite have everything.

I use the web player because I need to use a proxy to access it since I'm not in the US. That is my main criticism. I also think they can do better when it comes to international music and sometimes an artists discography is incomplete which bothers me. It's not bad.

I don't guess I've really been on long enough to notice any catalog issues, but I'm sure I'll eventually notice it. I use whatever the most basic web player version is, but since that's where I do most of music listening it's not a big deal for me. Does the web player have ads too? I haven't had any yet, but I use adblock.

I don't use adblock and I have not had any ads so my guess is it does not. :)
If you like listening to an artist's full discography you will definitely notice it soon. It can be annoying. I was listening to Muslimgauze today and noticed most of the EPs were missing. So I had to find them on YouTube.

I think I'll probably be using Spotify mainly for sharing playlists with other people in hopes of introducing them to artists, songs, albums, etc. So I am thinking it will be perfect for that. As far as discographies go, I have other means for that, so it's not a worry for me.
Spotify is great - now if only they'd invent a "Spotify for movies and TV", or hell even a Spotify for video games (where you can run games or movies for free, but with ad interruptions unless you pay for them) - this would probably render piracy null and void.

I've been using Spotify for a long time now. I'm trying out the Premium version now, I haven't decided if I'll keep it yet.

To be honest I actually like the ads, so I've never bothered with premium.

I've been on the free version since it first came out and love it. I use it mostly to listen to albums I'm interested in buying and if I like a certain % of songs then I buy the CD. If there are say only two songs on it that I like then I download those songs instead.

The sounds a lot like what I think I will be doing it with it, especially with bigger boxset stuff that isn't available on albums already.
Something like this is a good example: http://www.amazon.com/Popular-Electronics-Early-Electronic-1956-1963/dp/B003R6BJ4U
