Get your lightsabers out and your metallic bikinis on... we're having a MoFo Star Wars Weekend to celebrate The Force Awakens!!


It'll take place late November, so there's plenty of time to get people interested and informed of the event, and Yoda has said he will open the chatroom for the occasion.


I have spoken with our great leader, coincidentally, or not, named as Yoda... and we can use the chatroom like a kind of commentary thread.


This will be a timed and coordinated event over a 3 day period, starting on a Friday, and ending on a Sunday.



The actual dates are Friday 27th November for Episodes I and II...

... Saturday 28th November for Episodes III and IV...

... and Sunday 29th November for Episodes V and VI...


... in preparation for the December 18th release of The Force Awakens.

Times are approximate, we can give or take a minute or two… there will though be a run up to the times on each day, a couple hours or so with everyone getting excited and stuff so the chances are you won’t miss the start times. Heh heh heh!

These times are British time, GMT, so please check your local time if you’re outside the United Kingdom or GMT times so you can gauge when to be here…

Not to be a disagreeable ass, but those reviews are just micro-analyzing a film which wasn't meant to be analyzed that deeply - it's trying way too hard to find tiny errors which wouldn't be noticeable to anyone who hasn't watched the movies 50 times - while ignoring all of the problems in the original film that'd be equally valid if they were analyzed like the Shroud of Turin as well.

And hey, as mediocre as the Phantom Menace was compared to all the other films IMO - at least it didn't have Han and Lea walking out of the Millennium Falcon on an asteroid without space suits - or Leia knocking Stormtroopers in body armor unconscious with a simple whack to the chest with a branch; goofs like that from the original trilogy stood out a lot more than any single error in the prequels

I saw the trailer again when I was in theaters the other day. I don't know if this trailer was slightly different, at least it had some things that I hadn't seen before. Well, aside from the emphasis on "entertainment" and "epicness" over actually meaningful content, I think I actually for the first time felt a bit open to it. I can't do video clips sadly :( I don't have the program for it.
I made that using the bog-standard Windows Live Movie Maker that was on the laptop when I bought it :D
I tried a 3D technique in Photoshop so when the images zoom, some of them look like they have depth.

Good stuff. :up: Had fun, and the new chat held up well. Got some useful feedback--most I'll have to implement between now and the Oscars, but I might try to make some tweaks before tomorrow's. We'll see.

Either way, really had a good time. And really interested in seeing how the tone shifts when we finish the prequels. :D So far it's been mostly making fun of the dialogue and stopping briefly to talk about the moments we like in spite of it.
