I don't think of rep in the sense that it's something to be sought after. Or popularity for that matter. Rather, I just think of it as a tool. I use it to let someone know they posted something good, or funny, or interesting, or to make them feel good, or to let them know I replied to their thread. Things like that.

The easiest way to receive rep, is to give it out. That's why my number is so low. I am usually, but not always picky as to where I rep. Plus, I have a bad habit of not remembering to rep people. I'm just not in the habit of doing it, so I forget rather easy. I have 4,536 rep, with one negative rep. I use to have about four negative rep. I have 8,802 posts after I hit submit.

Photoshop is a good way to increase your rep. You can take a screenshot of your rep, and just edit it!

I use MS Paint though because I'm too poor hipster for photoshop.
