It's nice to know.... When I see a non-related post some revealing either their age or gender, I get surprised - also, it's respectful to say "He or Her" appropriately.

In forums about military history the average age is higher than here however, in anime forums is lower at around 20-25 (26 in the one I frequent usually, 20 among the kiddies in MAL). Videogames forums is also lower than here except for very mature games like Pharaoh (average age was 34 in a Pharaoh forum I used to frequent). In metal forums is also younger at around 20-25.

Ya, MoFo is confusing like that. I never know who's who.
On one site I know they have a symbol for the females and another for the males right next to their board name. I like that idea.

Right next to your nickname in a post you can see anyone's favorite movies. If it keeps getting confusing Yoda may add a little sign of gender next to the star, that shows you the favortite movies, of the user's gender.

That's right, CR. I was born September 10, 1944 at the Sheltering Arms Hospital in Athens, Ohio. There are a couple of other older gentlemen on the site, but I'm probably the closest to codgerhood...:)
I started seeing movies at the theater with my mother in 1949 when I was 5 years old. I had afternoon kindergarten, so I didn't have to get up early. So went went to our local theater every time the features changed, which was probably weekly.
So I was able to see many of the important films along with a jillion westerns and monster movies of the 1950s upon their release. I'm trying to think when I saw my first Hitchcock at the theater. It was either in 1953 or 1954, so it could have been I Confess, Dial M for Murder, or Rear Window. Of those 3, Rear Window left the biggest impression on me. I've watched it a half dozen times since. He's still my favorite director.
