HLA, I've interest in Posey.
I'm sure you guys do haha. I'm willing to move him given that I have Lucroy, who I still believe in, coming back in a week or so but Posey won't come cheap.

Yes theres a small pool of catchers with high Avg's, but not interested in Yadier cause Cervellis actually outproducing him.
Yeah HLA Im interested in Posey too!!! :):):):)
I wouldn't be interested in Molina because he looks like he has a parasite or something this year. I haven't looked too hard at him or his numbers this year, but physically, he looks like he's sick.
I'll certainly take a hit in the Host Body Resemblance category, I guess, but his numbers look the same as ever: walk rate's even a bit up and K rate a bit down. Not a lot of power, but that's not why he's ever been valuable, anyway.
Well, until Im offered a great catcher without having to lose Cruz or Trout ;) I may stick with Cervelli or Grandal. Next 2 days will determine if I reslot Grandal back in or not when he returns saturday.
I didn't want Cruz or Trout - just Harvey! ;)
OK - Easy come, easy go!
Shipped Eddie Money for Hammel to Tongo!
It was the right call for you, and a slight gamble on my part. My big goal is to get SPs that'll get wins, and the Red sox should provide for...Eddie Money is it? I thought he'd be called E-Rod, oh whatever. Thought you werent gonna take it cause you already have Arrieta.

Cueto for Polanco. Seems even if Cueto stays healthy.
Might have a 3rd trade coming, and yes that will do it for the trading burst.
Bye bye Johnny! The last player from my draft I hadnt dropped or traded.

I needed an arm with at least an 7.75-8 K/9 rate, as I am junk in Ks. Hammel fit the bill. I shipped a mostly unknown control guy that plays in the AL East. Guys like Arrieta and Hammel don't seem to do well in the AL, but on NL teams, they seem pretty sharp so far. There is a small chance E-Rod dominates this year, but his change up isn't where it needs to be, so I think the wheels come off fairly soon, once batters get a good look at what he can do.
I'm voting against the Cueto trade. Can't for the life of me figure that one out.

If anyone else would veto it, please do. I have strong trader regrets on this one.

I don't care about it, but just remember that I didn't offer it, which is the main reason why I think it should stand.

I wont pm anyone to veto it, but just because I offered the trade shouldn't be the reason for it to stand. Pretty much everyones taken back a purchase at a store before.
Does this mean you want Hammel back now too? ;)
I was going to counter Eduardo for Cueto, but I knew it would get vetoed ever so fast.

My store has a no return policy.
But hey, if it gets vetoed, oh well. I need a reason to cut Marisnick anyways.
Oh no Seds! If I knew I couldve given you Cueto for E-Rod I woulda done it! Im kidding! ;)
I was offering Voneil Harvey for Pineda, but nixed offering for awhile due to, well...., basically too much of everything.

After a lot of deliberation, I've decided to NOT vote against the Cueto/Polanco trade, though I'd like to go on record as saying that it's very close to being imbalanced enough to vote down. The fact that Cueto missed a start and had an MRI this week is probably the difference.

Come on now...
Silly!
Tongo may end up being his own worst enemy. I say more power to him.

I'm starting to feel like that maybe I should have acceptted every trade that has been proposed to me so far. I can't figure this thing out!
Made a great trade with Tim getting Lucroy, and giving Salazar. Just grabbed Joe Mauer to play on Polancos off days.
Now barring any sudden injuries, I shouldnt need to do anymore moves or trades in forseeable future.

Any interest out there in Jhonny Peralta? Dude's been one of the best hitters this year and since I got Desi, I've been benching him. He's reliably been one of the better SS's in fantasy ball for the last several years.
Willing to package Matt Shoemaker, Danny Salazar (once I acquire him), Adam Lind, or an RP under the right circumstances.
Looking for: high-end reliever, SB's, or dece SP

Well, looks like Cueto will stay. Threw out a few monster deals but I was swinging for the fences a tad too much.
I could use an outfielder though.
Sorry man - I just got another arm (Hammel) and Harper is just too valuable at this point in time. I need his power!

That was a prayer trade offer. I think it was pretty fair but I can't blame you for not taking it.
Indeed. It was pretty fair. If I needed a 1B, I might have taken it. Maybe. I have Abreu though, and Meyers is just about to come back online in a UTIL slot. I have Burns in there subbing, and that kid is on fire right now.
I just want to thank everyone who's rejected any offer of mine in the last two weeks. Almost everyone I wanted to trade has been awesome.

^^^ Yeah Ive had to use the night crickets sound before too.
Not making a trade, just acknowledging I made 10 more moves since I said I was done. No announcement necessary.
Have 2 trade offers out. Offering Sedai Kendrys Morales & DJ LeMahieu for Jason Kipnis, and offering Inmate both for Dee Gordon.
Evaluating now.
Funny thing... I am setting up a counter offer (just a 1 for 1) and even though i am giving up just a second basemen, the evaluater is saying I will love 10 HOLDS with the deal. Huh? The deal only involved my 2B and an SP on the opposing team that has never had a hold in his life... Not sure this tool works very well!
The trade evaluation tool takes any starting spots opened up by the deal and plugs someone from your bench (whichever it deems most valuable, I guess). So absent specifics, I'd say it's something like that, though I'm not sure why, if you're not giving up any pitchers.
If you feel like PMing me the player names I can try to figure it out. But yes, I would encourage everyone to take the trade evaluation tool's numbers with a grain of salt.
Im sorry Dude I havent seen your counter, but I just cant give up any pitchers unless Im getting one back in the deal. Half my starters are ones I grabbed off waivers the past few days.
Gotta pay for those big names! ;) I will just deny for now, then. The trade just wouldn't make sense for me - why give up my 2B for a worse one with a 1B attached when i have Abreu in that slot?

Ok then
Cool! Made a deal with the Quickies, giving Kendrys Morales & DJ LeMehieu for Kolten Wong. Feel much more confident of Wong going forward than LeMehieu and maybe even Kendrys who is a DH and cant play in national league games.
I wish I had a gif of Kramer saying "starting right now". ;)

If you send me an offer, I'll be sure to entertain it. If it has Edwin in it, I'll think even harder about it. Too lazy to think of one right now.
Lost my last big name pitcher, but got Big Game James :) Me and Yoda have made a deal where I send him Kevin Siegrest & Matt Harvey for James Shields & Jake McGee. Even though Shields is in San Diego, he will always be a Ray.

I'm not saying its not fair. I'm just saying I think Yoda got the better end of the stick :)
Well, I sure hope I did. ;) Though both of us need Saves, so in our situation McGee is clearly a lot better to have than Siegrist.
I think we'd all rather have Harvey over Shields, but there's a very real possibility I'm paying for reputation over production. Check out their numbers: they're surprisingly close overall (just a half-point apart on ESPN's Player Rater, roughly identical xFIP). Largely because Shields is striking out an insane number of guys, nearly 11 per 9. He's 3 Ks back from leading the entire league.
My team would rather have Shields right now if I had to choose between those two. I have raised my K rate a bit over the last couple of weeks, but could probably use another guy with high Ks - let's hope Justin can find some of that old magic when he returns Saturday.
Banknotes Harper
06-11-15, 01:01 PM
Siegrist isn't better than McGee. They both have some normalizing to their projections/underlying numbers to do.
I might not have Shields long enough to get a start out of him.
To quote Captain James T. Kirk "I have.....a plan."
A handful of times this year I've wanted to make an offer for a guy I didn't quite have yet because the trade hadn't gone through. Something in my brain always goes "take it easy, champ. Maybe give it a day or two." :D
James Shields & Joakim Soria are going to Mudville Nine, and I get back the 1B I originally drafted, Albert Pujols, and Darren O'Day. :)
For my buddy Tongo, who I actually hope never stops. You keep the league spicy.

You gotta make the offers, you gotta try. It wont come to you ;)
Rauld changed his mind on Cueto/Cruz trade and I agreed to cancel it. If everyone could just Veto the trade itll save having to "undo" the trade when it goes thru. Thanks.
Yeah, if it doesn't get veto'd I'll cancel it. Standard op in this league, for those newer to it, is that if BOTH owners agree to go back on the trade we allow it (has to be both, obviously), since it only saves them the trouble of having to re-trade right after.

Would Salazar, Syndergaard, or Shoemaker constitute an upgrade for you? I have Fernandez due back in a week, so I need to clear up some space. I also have a similar need to move a reliever.
Is Shoe even worth rostering at this point? I thought he was a bust this year...

I'm adamant that he is. All of his numbers are the same as last year except that he's allowing twice as many home runs. I don't always know how to rationalize something like that, but, in my mind, that's been more bad luck than anything and should improve. I think.

Two question here:
(1) What constitutes a "keeper" in Tongo-speak?
(2) Do you still have any of the players that your originally drafted on your roster?
The first is facetious and the second is genuine curiosity combined with laziness in not wanting to figure it out myself.

Rauld Ill give you Jose Reyes for Johnny Cueto. I always felt bad about losing Cueto.
rauldc14
07-04-15, 02:05 PM
Nah. Cueto is the 11th best pitcher. Reyes, at a shallow position, is 10th best SS.
Made an offer to Voneils Chisox, yes its for Scherzer. We should all do a confessional saying who weve offered for Max Scherzer. Anyway I think this is my first attempt. Offer is Jose Reyes & Jake Odorizzi, Odors back July 11th.
^^^ Making the same offer to Sean for David Price.
I made a trade offer. Not saying to who, what Im offering, or who I want. So there! :p
Me and Pats Seals have a deal, I gave him Kolten Wong & Erasmo Ramirez for Dee Gordon.
Wong wont get me the steals I need, and his power wont help me as much as Dees SBs, also with Odor coming back I could unload Erasmo much easier. In a month Id have Smyly, and that would have been 3 Rays in my rotation. Thats too many.
Whoa!
20 minutes ago they reported Kolten Wong had to leave his game due to a head contusion. Sorry Pat, hopefully its nothing serious.

Andrew Miller is returning from the DL today or tomorrow. That means that I have 6 relievers with only 5 spots for them. Would anybody be interested in trading for one? I have 3 closers and 3 set-up guys.
Closers: Andrew Miller, Koji Uehara, Brad Ziegler
Set-up: Darren O'Day, Tony Watson, Sergio Romo
With Miller returning, and Betances being Betances, I am shipping Wilson. I think those guys will lock him out of too many hold opportunities to keep on board.
Evan Longoria is on the Trading Block.

Yeah, having a 7th inning guy is tough unless the team wins a ton of games and/or is overly-reliant on their bullpen. So, like Jared Hughes, Kelvin Herrera, and Kevin Jepsen are all pretty good, but otherwise, the non-8th inning guys are tough to roster, I think.
I slotted a just-activated Mejia instead. We shall see how it goes!

Anyone interested in pitching? I'm entertaining offers, since none of my FA moves are moving me up in the standings at all :)
Based on the rankings it seems like pitching is what you need most (1 point in both ERA and WHIP). Though that could be the product of lineup maintenance; I think you had Scherzer on your bench for all three starts in what ended up being one of the best pitching runs in MLB history. So it's kinda hard to say, I guess.
Yes, actually slotting your players when they play helps huge. Whenever you see a ^ next to their name, that means theyre pitching that day. :)
Poor Patricks Inmates might have a concussed Wong after all. He was injured a few hours after the trade. Seems he lied about passing the concussion test after the game.
"Tue, Jul 7Tests showed that Kolten Wong suffered a mild concussion during the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader versus the Cubs.
Advice: Wong said after the game that he passed the test and is fine, but obviously that wasn't the case. That he says he's feeling OK suggests maybe he won't need to go on the 7-day concussion disabled list, but we should know more on Wednesday."

Oh yeah, I just saw that that was accepted, which, cool! I'm about ready to give up on some guys, so I could use a better hitter in my lineup and I think Yasiel is a good buy-low(er) candidate. Watson is among the league leaders in holds and Lawrie's been on a nice tear to help Bill Beanz save some face, but with Pedroia (hopefully) coming back for me after the All-Star break, he was becoming expendable.

Sean and I have reached an agreement. He's getting Cueto and I'm getting Brett Gardner. I needed offense and im starting to lose a lot of ground in the categories I was once doing well in (steals and runs). Cueto is a hell of a player, but I'm putting my trust in Miller and Bum being a decent 1-2 punch.
It will be sad to see Cueto go but I didn't see any other way of doing it.
Very excited to get Cueto. Worried about the 12 points I have had in Avg and Obp for quite a while. I have now traded Pujols and Gardner in the last month. Just doesn't feel like I will hold onto those points.

I was entertaining the Braun/Cueto offer, but I was ultimately going to turn it down because I think I need an extra good hitter over another good pitcher. But that's not entirely clear to me.
Im not saying Im not trading, but wont be making any offers. It would also take a great offer for me trade now. Since Im so accesible this way usually I thought it best to give y'all a heads up. ;)
