First of all, there aren't enough replies in this thread. I expected more wishes, more gifts, more rubber ducks. I expected strippers wearing clown makeup to knock on my door. I expected more jubilation, more cheer, more celebration. I'm also a little disappointed that nobody put out a search party when I was absent from the forum for over two weeks. How were you able to get through your daily lives without obsessively worrying about me? Did you toss and turn at night, wishing I was here, logging on in the early morning hours hoping to find my painted-up face leaving novella-length posts around the forum? Did you miss my genius insight? My gut-busting hilarity? My Pulitzer Prize-winning writing skills? Did you light candles around your bathtub in honor of my memory?

No? Well, f**k you too. :p

I certainly missed you people.

As most of you know, I've been using dial-up for the past several months. It was agonizingly slow, but I had gotten used to it . . . until about two and a half weeks ago, when it pretty much stopped working. Although it killed me not being able to get on here, especially for my one-year anniversary, it turns out that it was one of the best things that could have happened, since it led to me calling around to various internet companies. When I moved here last summer, nothing was available in my area except expensive satellite internet and dial-up. I don't know what changed, but AT&T U-Verse is now available to me. They came out and installed it this past weekend. No longer am I shackled to 90's technology. The chains of bondage are officially broken. I can now watch movies online, breeze around the forum, participate in song tournaments, satiate my porn addiction, or just view threads without waiting 10+ minutes for the damn page to finish loading.

I feel like a brand new clown. Captain Spaulding 2.0 -- Bigger, better, faster, stronger!

As for the one-year anniversary, thank you to everyone who responded in this thread. Honestly, it feels like I've been here a lot longer. It's hard to remember my life without Movie Forums. I plan on sticking around for as long as this beautiful place exists.
