I just think this is more complicated than you do. I don't really oppose the war, period. I think it's good that Saddam is finally going - let's just hope that it happens quickly and without to much bloodshed....

Some theorize that my hitting 10,000 posts will send joyous ideological shockwaves throughout the world by bringing peace to the middle east, unearthing the Ark of the Convenant, and reducing Sheryl Crow to a pillar of salt (whose salty likeness will subsequently be dumped on Barbara Streisand, who will have been transformed into a slug).
Most say that nothing will happen, and the freight train that is MoFo will continue to barrel forward with just that much more coal in its furnace. Still others insist that my 10,000th post will bring with it a form of enlightenment and cosmic understanding unknown to anyone who doesn't wear a robe.
Time will tell.
That whole B Streisand thing is brilliant!
EXCELLENT idea for a thread Sir Toose....i look forward to you continuing it :D

Hey! I was the first one to be elected into the Hall of Fame!!! ASSKISSER!!!!  :D
I actually wrote a comment on that post since it sounded like I was pro-war WHICH I'M NOT! But since I've made a habit out of ****ing things up with my posts the damn thing disappeared when I clicked "done". And I spent at least an hour on it!!! :frustrated: Don't know why I keep doing that... God, I miss my own pc.
Anyway.. I'm glad at least someone reads and values my emormously insightful posts. Thanks! :)
I dig this thread. It will surely increase what motivation we have to construct funnier and/or more insightful posts. :yup:

Allrighty then.
I'm not going to do it by week though... it's too taxing on my disorganized brain. I'll just post em as I see em, fair enough?
Sunfrog, in his never ending quest to sway Yoda's opinion, tries to evoke a negative comment about our President from Yoda. This little twist was hilarious to me...
Sunfrog:
Aha! So you admit Bushlite is the anti-christ! Do you know how many historical biblical type things have been destroyed by this war? Who but satan would do that?
BTW, can you tell us? Do you have a list?
Yoda's response... Uday, HERE is an example of WIT ... you know that art that you can't quite grasp? Anyways...
Yoda:
Of course. And he eats babies. The only thing that quenches his thirst more than the blood of the innocent is, of course, oil, which he boils people in regularly.
His dictatorship will culminate in the crucifixation of jaywalkers and dismembering of anyone who owns an electric car. He will then don a black robe, assume a pale complexion, and begin construction on the dreaded Death Star.
Crucifixation of jaywalkers... classic. Satire is only truly funny if it cantains a grain of truth. I found this to be a creative and hilarious way to underline the paranoia of the left.
Again, my opinion... dissenters p!ss off and start your own thread.

Django:
Athens (along with Sparta) was the dominant power in Greece prior to Alexander, I think. Athens was a democracy. When Alexander rose to power later, he did so as an aggressive, imperialistic monarch, a far cry from the Greek democratic spirit. Alexander founded the Hellenistic Empire--he was an imperialist, not a democrat. Just thought I'd mention that.

The "rich getting richer" implies that they make their money and are GIVEN more. That's why it's misleading. In reality they make their money, have large amounts of it taken, and are then given a significant amount back proportional to what was taken. Surely you can see that "the rich getting richer" implies some kind of freebie. But we're not buying Bill Gates a Lexus, here.
The "poor getting poorer" part is worse. How can you possibly get poorer simply because you're not getting as much money back as someone else? If someone hands you $1, and hands me $10, is it anything other than dishonest to say that you were "poorer" as a result
Someone give that man a cookie please.

And here R66 offers further evidence that MoFo is a 'hate' zone to liberals. Haven't we just twisted your head off for your beliefs R66?
Yoda:No, it doesn't. Capitalism can't help it if people eat themselves into an early grave or refuse to pay attention in the classroom, ultimately.
Yoda:Yoda my friend, I'm considered a "bleeding-heart" liberal, but my hat's off to you buddy. If people could just embrace or even consider the words in your above quote, there would be less complaining and more constructive action from my side. Ever think of becoming a democrat?
Personally, I'd like to hear more of what R66 has to say on the various 'heavy' issues around here. He's most definitely well respected and well mannered and I for one look forward to his posts. He's most assuredly one of those members that we could all learn from.
I agree. His ability to remain seemingly calm and collected and rational in the face of any issue is worth of imitation...shame I'm completely unable to duplicate it. :D It's very refreshing.

Ms Austruck... hitting the proverbial nail on the head...
And your point would be...?
"Are all geniuses misunderstood in their time?"
Only the really obtuse ones.
Remember:
Not all geniuses are misunderstood.
And not all misunderstood people are geniuses.
However, I'd wager that most narcissists are convinced they are both geniuses and misunderstood. Hence their tendencies toward feeling like martyrs.
Oh, go HERE (http://www.movieforums.net/showthread.php?threadid=4299) for context if you're not already familiar with it...

And so you should. That post hit many nails on the head at once. It works on so many levels. It makes a logical point, and still manages to address the fact that Uday things he is Christ.
Agreed. I read it and instantly thought "EXACTLY!" This dude is misunderstood, and immediately chooses to believe it's due to a shortcoming of those around him. As a number of posters in the past (you know who they are) have shown us, some people will stop at nothing to avoid having to acknowledge a fault.
I was wondering if you could nominate Piddzilla's posts in the Who Profits from War thread, Toose. They're all great.

Ok everyone, now here this (or hear, whichever you prefer): Hear (or here) is the Truth! (notice it's capitalized, so it must be true):
I have an aunt who has a cousin that lives in Southern California, whose bus driver's wife's hair dresser is the hair dresser of the janitor's wife, who sweeps the floors at a major movie studio!!! Of course, this all means that I have the inside scoop (or poop) on all the inside information in Hollywood.
Get ready for this! This is going to blow your mind! A major movie studio is planning a huge blockbuster by gathering EVERY major star from the last 10 years and put them in the same film! The film is about how our moon got caught in the Earth's orbit. As you probably already know, there are several theories about how the moon became a part of our orbit, but Hollywood is going to produce such a blockbuster that it will change the way even science is viewed and taught!!!!
It's sarcastic, it's caustic, it's real... I like it. It's Silver Bulletish and swellegant at every curve.

TRYIN' TO BE JESUS: THE DJANGO SONG*
To be sung to the tune of California Girls.
Well, these threads they are badly written, conceived, thought through and they,
Are the saddening product of a f_cked up mind, the f_cked up mind of ol' Uday.
Now I've seen many screwed up members, Raz and Ladies Man come to mind,
But f_cking Uday, oh he just won't quit, oh no the moron, he just can't say die.
I wish he would stop tryin' to be Jesus
And make some posts with logic and reason,
I wish he would just leave, or that I could ban [him].
Now, we all have our moments where we're rude, plain dumb or both,
But this homosexual science fiction fan, it'd just be better if he never spoke.
The thing is Udes you're not a martyr, everything you say makes us bored.
You have no wit, you are not smart, you're not the second coming of the Lord.
I wish he would stop tryin' to be Jesus
And make some posts with logic and reason,
I wish he would just leave, or that I could ban [him].
[Key change. Sopranos start scaling their upper register.]
I wish he would stop tryin' to be Jesus
And make some posts with logic and reason,
I wish he would just leave, or that I could ban [him].
[Fade out as desired.]

Speaking of old posts, that's why I came here today. A long time ago I said something like, if you're pro-war you're either stupid or misinformed. Not sure if it was here or at movie-vault. Well, you can look at it this way. Bushlite is stupid and was misinformed about the war, or the pro-war people who don't know the difference between IRAQ and AFGHANISTAN are stupid for shouting down the anti-war protestors and rushing to war without thinking and, they were misinformed by Bushlite, probably on advice from his anti-christ dad.
Either way, I'm right AGAIN! :D
P.s. Have you apollogized to P'Lite yet? Look how much squittle there is now! Over 43,000 posts! And you're even letting a British guy post!
What's up with the old reviews on the front page? You still have Holes up. Where's the Hulk and LXG? Pirates of the Carribean kicks ***!

I guess you were right. You know, now that the Baath regime is gone, the vast majority of Iraqis and Kurds wave American flags at the troops, nearly all of the cities have restored electricity and water, and American troops are helping to build soccer stadiums.
I read somewhere that the attacks on US troops are being paid for by former Baath party members. These criminals & gangsters give children 50 bucks for just taking a shot at an American soldier. This doesn't exactly qualify as 'resistance' or a 'guerilla war', if you ask me. Quagmire my ass.

:rotfl:
Good to know they're keeping the dollar in circulation ;)
Um, where the hell did you read that and how the hell would anybody know?? The Baath party has become another convenient tag-name for evil, and there's no guarantee all resistance is from them. You must accept that iraqi people outside the baath party can be opposed to american presence, and even prepared to attempt to "discourage" it. Remember these people have been thru a lot tho etc.
But as for the flag-waving! The majority of people waving the the stars and stripes and whooping? Oh please, stop watching the Fox network. They must have the one time that happened on loop ;) (even if you're being allegorical, it's still bull****. Your presence is not supported by the locals for the most part according to the most recent on-the-ground docs/reports that i've seen)
