I don't know if this is true, but I heard from someone today that SpongeBob Squarepants is being taken off the air. Why you ask?

Well according to what I heard, apparently a 4 year old girl dove into a pond to try to look for Spongebob and Patrick, and she drowned. Who lives in a pineapple under the sea, indeed. :(

Now, who is at fault here?

The show, or the parents who probably weren't watching her when she was out playing? If I had a 4 year old daughter I would make sure I knew where she was 24/7.

Now another great show has to be taken off because somone wants to blame their lack of parental presence on a TV show everyone knows and loves. It just gets better folks...I can't wait for someone to sue the real John Mullins from Soldier Of Fortune after their son or daughter becomes a mercenary and winds up dying in some 3rd world country showcased in the magazine.

Aw C'mon, Sexy Celebrity-at least it's not as bad as that purple dinosaur that runs around singing "I love you, you love me...."
Now THAT'S bad.

Barney lacked creativity and the B in his name stands for "boring", but he had a good message. I'm not sure what Spongebob is all about... he's just not my style. And I don't like all of the Spongebob merchandise... he looks perverse or something. Barney's look is more tolerable to me.

Well, Spongebob is just one of those characters who are around just for curiosity sake, like the cartoon "Cow And Chicken" -they're just there, and fun, and no political explanation or setup is needed. You don't know how they got there, they are just there, and all you do is laugh at and enjoy them.

I will say that you're right that Spongebob looks
a bit on the demented side, sort of like a "FrankenSponge" if you will, LOL I imagine more than one little kid probably cried when they saw those square shoulders, that dead ahead stare and mouth full of teeth. But everyone likes something different, so tomorrow, SpongeBob may be out, and a brand new character may be in.

And yeah, you have to wonder, just how did he get to live in a pineapple under the sea? Now that's a new one...

My niece loves Sponge Bob and has all kinds of stuff in her room… If that is true about the little 4 year old girl… sounds like someone wasn’t watching her like they should have been especially with a pond around… :(

Agreed, Caitlyn.

This mirrors an incident that took place years ago in the town I live in:
Our next door neighbor (God rest his soul he's been gone for 13 years) always used to get drunk on the eve of his 2 year old son's death-he drowned in a park pond as a result of his decision to let his 3 and 5 year old daughters watch him while the family messed around in a park, drinking and laughing it up (or so I am told.)

Now what are kids that age doing watching another baby? Every eve of the baby's death, the man would get drunk and the mother would pack up all the kids and drive them to her mother's as he would be alone in the house screaming and blaming his two daughters. One year he allegedly he nearly choked one of them to death before the mother went into action....

And it's ironic,
because his 2 daughters turned out to be the town sluts who had it with everybody (except me because they always thought of me as a 'friend' and nothing more, figures...) Anyway, in the grand scheme of things, maybe if he made the two girls feel loved back then, they wouldn't have turned out like they are now. It's not their fault that they were too little to competently watch another child...

Strange how you can make a post about 2 1/2 paragraphs long about SpongeBob SquarePants, yet I can never make a sentance when it comes to religion/war/abortion etc. etc.

Don't look at me, I didn't say you couldn't say anything...besides, I'm not the one in control of your keyboard or your thoughts, you are.

This being said just in case I am getting the blame here.

Actually, I thought there was too much death and not enough jokes, considering "SpongeBob Squarepants" is in the title!

Good point Gracie. Spongebob is funny no doubt about it. The death part, well that's something we can't do anythig about sad to say.
But I like the show, esp. the episode where Spongebob and Patrick used curse words and they bleeped and blammed everything out at the end when they had a big argument.
Pretty funny.
