View Full Version : Quote of the Day
I nominate Cricket to win this award for posting this:
When I hit puberty, I went to the library, cut pictures out of magazines, and brought them home.
That's all I have to say about that.

“What an astonishing thing a book is. It's a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it and you're inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic."

“To the future or to the past, to a time when thought is free, when men are different from one another and do not live alone— to a time when truth exists and what is done cannot be undone: From the age of uniformity, from the age of solitude, from the age of Big Brother, from the age of doublethink — greetings! ”

There are two men in history that I am a huge follower of their philosophy and one said
“Accept the things to which fate binds you, and love the people with whom fate brings you together, but do so with all your heart.” ~ Marcus Aurelius.
the other said
“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.” ~ Lao Tzu

“Those who know do not speak. Those who speak do not know.”
“Care about what other people think and you will always be their prisoner.”
so this tells me.. you dont know what you are talking about and do you really think I care what you think of him?

But then it would also mean you and I don't know what we're talking about, but Slob probably does since he didn't reply. ;)
