The feedback on my first list seemed pretty positive so I thought I would try another one. These are 30 screenplays that I think are standout elements of the film. A lot of them won Oscars and I think every screenplay on this list deserved at least a nomination. Here goes:

30.

Tina Fey, Mean Girls

So far, each set of two movies has had one movie that I love:

Pillow Talk
The Apartment
Sunset Boulevard
Blake Edwards' S.O.B.

BTW, your picture for S.O.B. isn't showing up.

What is it about these scripts that make you love them?
Movies that I'm attracted to always have something that stand out to me...sometimes it's the plot, sometimes it's the performances, sometimes it's the direction, sometimes it's the characters, and sometimes it's the dialogue. These are films that I remember being attracted to the scripting, the structure of the story, the dialogue that goes back and forth between characters, especially when a tapestry of words walks the line between realism and drama.

1.
Paddy Chayefsky, Network

This story just gets more timely as the years go by and the dialogue sizzles.
