I mean actual store bought dvd and bluray copies. None of this digital download or burn to a disc crap.

Who's got the big collection on this site? And pictures possibly?

My collection is all digital, I guess I don't qualify.
It's so much nicer this way. No DVD-Ads or anything, it's organized and immediately starts playing the feature.

I haven't counted my DVDs, but they're all over the house. I'll try to get a count this weekend and get back to you.

My money's on Holden Pike.

It's Holden and I doubt it's that close. I think his Laserdisc collection is bigger than a lot of film collections on this site.

Before i started converting to digital and filling up my HD's, i'd say i had close to a 1,000 DVD's and Blurays. Still have em, but still in the lengthy process of converting.

There was a time where id go any and every place that sold DVD's to look for obscure and rare movies to collect, i think i had 3 or 4 different versions of El Topo before the Manson box set came out, but with the internet and sharing now, things arn't so rare anymore.

Yep definitely one of the guys like Holden. :)

If you want images/lists of films, there are all sorts of DVD/Blu-ray collection topics in this section to look at Wolfsbane.

I rarely buy physical media anymore. Only if it's a Blu-ray for really good price and that I feel is either really rewatchable or is a stunning transfer/sound aka a must own...

But yeah, I'm slowly converting more and more to digital. All my dvds are packed away in a box, I only got my Blu-rays out for display. I guess I would say I have about 500 dvds and 150 Blu-rays maybe.

I imagine I'd probably be up there near the top with my DVD addiction. I'll need to try and actually work it out exactly at some point but I know for definite I have easily over 2000 films. And I stress 'films'. That's not including the hundreds of TV shows, stand-up comedy shows, concerts, wrestling and general interest DVDs I have

2000 DVDs? Really? Really? that's at minimum 10,000 dollars worth of dvd buying. Damn

Please don't try and add it up. I've done that and it's just shameful!

Then maybe you're buying your DVDs in the wrong places. I probably have about 1000 DVDs, but I buy most of them at garage sales for $1 or less, and at flea markets for $3 or less. I've bought some on Black Friday too, but those have been mostly TV box sets for $10 or less and $5 or less for movies.

There's about 50 that aren't good, to be honest. About 150 are good and great and awesome.

Holden's collection brought people to their knees ten years ago - I presume it has only grown since then...

I had 673 and 27 Blu Rays before selling them all and going digital. They took up so much space I didnt see a point in keeping them when I didnt have to....still have about 30 or so...absolute favourites....and every season of Family Guy.

I got to a point where I must have had around 1500 (give or take) but I stopped getting DVDs and gave away+sold a large chunk, so I got about 300+ left and around 500 blu-ray steelbooks.

I have around 150 dvd's and 150 blu ray's and I slowly continue to grow my collection, but by objective isn't to have a lot of movies it's to own the movies I really like and that I have a chance to rewatch.

TCM & Amazon stores sell the most dvd collections, but Walmart also. 3rd party sellers can be found on Amazon with their ratings of timely delivery, tracking & quality of dvd/bd titles. Another store is " oldies collections " cds,dvd & bd. Amazon also sells VHS & some laser. My 700 came from these stores. Most new 20 titles bought used very playable. Buy with guarantee or refund. I try to buy the best quality for my Home Theater, inclusive of used.

Why did you sell so many & how did you sell them? Amazon buys dvds & bds or trade them. You had that many must of been some rare titles. I buy them if movie is halfway good story & cast. I want one now called ( Swamp Water ) in dvd format. Ever heard the title ? If you got it I want it. I allow email response. I Just joined up on this web site, movies is a hobby. Have large collections of cds & dvds in my Media Home Theater Library. I got 700 titles & Westerns is my fav genre followed by Screwball Comedy. Nearly all titles were researched using IMDB & Amazon reviews of best movies in decades 1928 to 2015. I select my likes & what audiences would like to see. Most Musicals I don't buy, just very selected one with comedy or good drama in them. I boast of having greatest Westerns collections of the 40s to 1960s then onto Clint Eastwood Westerns. A modern time John Ford. I'm a Baby Boomer and TV in the decade of 1950s Westerns were king of tv programming.

I'm not sure how mny we have but nothing like some of you avid movie collectors, but we have a kerbside cleanup this week so cleaning out stuff we dont use any more I decided yesterday they're all going to the salvation army store down the road. Maybe my world music collection as well although I'm umming and arring about that with my inner hoarder.

The biggest DVD collection is currently owned by Scott DVD, the inventor of the DVD. His brother, Jim Laserdisc, is jealous of his success.
