Made a load of face-offs before but I've decided to make another.

Who would win? Simple question.

In short, here's a roundup.

Superman

Powers:
He has the potential for limitless physical strength and durability. Sometimes anger and high-emotional states have been shown to make him stronger.
Bulletproof.
Super-senses... hearing, breath (freeze and wind), smell, sight.
Laser-eyes.
Regenerates quickly if injured if he can gain power and healing from the Sun (could be seen as a weakness too, see below).
Able resist psychic control.
Able to absorb radiation, including Nuclear attacks.
Superhuman speed and able to fly.
X-Ray Vision.

Weaknesses:
Cannot see through Lead.
Kryptonite, exposure to green Kryptonite neutralises Superman's powers completely and causes pain and nausea. Prolonged exposure will kill him.
Various other Kryptonite colours have different effects, including turning him evil.
Solar Exhaustion. He gains his powers from the Sun's radiation, in long drawn out battles he has been known to have a limit on his stamina when his stored up solar-energy runs low.
Magic.

Hulk

Powers:
Depending on his anger
He has the potential for limitless physical strength, and durability.
Bulletproof.
Regenerates quickly if injured.
Able resist psychic control.
Able to absorb radiation, including Nuclear attacks.
Superhuman speed and able to jump across entire continents.
Has been known to withstand temperatures exceeding that of the Sun.
Can regrow body-parts, including internal organs,

Weaknesses:
As Bruce Banner, he can be killed. Particularly if Bruce has recently come out of his Hulk-Rage, he needs to rest and is vulnerable.
Magic.

Well,Superman is far more intelligent, so... Easy choice, IMO!

I forgot to add actually.

Bruce Banner may be physically weak, but he has one of the greatest scientific minds in History.

Superman, obviously...I mean he is able to leap tall buildings in a single bound....oh, wait...yeah, still Superman. :)

I tend to believe that Hulk having a lack of conscious is the answer.

Yeah, sorry, no. I'm a Marvel fan but, Superman tosses Hulk into the sun. The end.

And besides, it was once said that Superman can be as strong as the writers want him to be (as can be said for any fictional character, but Superman's powers are over-exaggerated more often for the sake of being the ultimate hero), while with Marvel, what with them killing off heroes recently... yeah, I don't think so.

If Hulk's power has no limit and increases with his rage, how does Superman gain the upper hand?

I don't pull for one over the other, but Superman's "I don't kill" seems to be closest thing to a tiebreaker. If a fight was devoid of plot lines, Hulk would kill Superman at first chance; in the same vain that Superman would destroy Batman based on "stats".

If Hulk's power has no limit and increases with his rage, how does Superman gain the upper hand?

But wouldn't Hulk need to be angry to gain that "unlimited power"? Superman already has unlimited power at the beginning of the fight, or rather, more power than any known superheroes anyway.

And if we're talking about the "I don't kill" personality of Superman, didn't Superman go rogue at one point in the video game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us"? It is possible for Superman to kill, even if not during normal circumstances. And let's not forget Man of Steel.

And another thing I feel I should point out; there have been simulated fights between Superman and Goku, and also, Superman and Thor. In both of those fights, the opponent was dumb enough to toss Superman into the sun, causing him to regenerate. Just something funny I noticed. Whether it's related to the battle between Superman and the Hulk or not is circumstantial.

Goku :D

Superman I think, his power is of a superior magnitude than Hulk, based on what I watched on movies: Superman can throw mountains of billions of tons around, Hulk can throw a 60 ton tank around.

I think this quote made by the Schmoes Know team kinda said it best,
The battle has been raging awhile with the two heroes trading blows, Hulk knocking down Superman, and Superman getting back up and knocking down the Hulk. Finally, Superman realizes he can’t beat the Hulk, and he doesn’t want to kill him. Even if he wanted to the only way he could think of killing him would be to throw him into the Sun, but past research and examples prove that Hulk’s body adapts to any kind of environment he is in, so it’s not even a sure thing that the Sun would be able to kill him.

So I think Superman would instead just throw the Hulk into Space, away from any planets or asteroids, until he’s just drifting in space forever…that is unless he comes across a wormhole that sends him to a planet that would allow him to come back to Earth with other brutal gladiators to get his revenge… but I find that slightly unlikely. Only slightly though.

Hell. Yeah. The Phoenix is probably the closest thing to a non-god/goddess superheroine that can defeat Superman. I would have pointed out The One Above All, but that's kinda a 'god'.

But wouldn't Hulk need to be angry to gain that "unlimited power"? Superman already has unlimited power at the beginning of the fight, or rather, more power than any known superheroes anyway.

If they are both invincible, I would think Hulk would survive long enough to get angry and have his strength rise.

And if we're talking about the "I don't kill" personality of Superman, didn't Superman go rogue at one point in the video game, "Injustice: Gods Among Us"? It is possible for Superman to kill, even if not during normal circumstances. And let's not forget Man of Steel.

I suppose you could say that, but Superman doesn't kill. A part of the backlash from MoS was that killing Zod contradicted all canon. The not killing is the only thing that keeps Superman as close to grounded as comics can be.

The only problem with these hypotheticals is that it just comes down to perspective. If I look at it from a "stats" angle, Hulk would kill Superman and not stop until he did. Superman would essentially have a hand tied behind his back, because he would never finish him.
