View Full Version : What are you doing on New Year's Eve?

We've been discussing going to Dave & Buster's this year for food and fun, but we're not sure that it's worth about $120 for two people for one night, so we may just go out for a nice early dinner, and then come home and watch movies until midnight.
Are you going out to a party? Staying home and watching the ball drop on TV?

Will probably drink quite a bit then me and hubbie will go outdoors at midnight to see the new year in. Drink a toast with any of the neighbours who do the same thing.

Probably just gonna stay in with the missus this year. Sometimes I go to a friend's house but this year we'll probably just relax with some wine.

For our New Years we are going to dinner with Tim's sister and her husband then we are having a small get together of about ten. (That's a big party to me, but small to everyone else.)
I really like the taste of champagne, so even though I normally don't drink, I'll probably have a glass or two.
We are going to play Texas Hold'em and Euchre which will be lots of fun. I hate parties where people just mill around and try to think of small talk so I'm really looking forward to it.
Watching the ball go down as usual, calling people up to wish them them a Happy New Year and then go to sleep.
Catching up on the sleep I missed.

Tell me about it. In Ohio everyone plays. I was taught at a really young age so I could be a partner if needed. My parents were crazy about it.
I've taught everyone I know to play. I seriously won't leave them alone until they learn, then usually they become addicted. There is no other card game that comes close to being as good.

No, thank goodness. I'm scheduled off on Tuesdays and we're closed New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, so I don't go back until Friday. I did have to work yesterday, though. I was scheduled for 10 hours but left after 8.5.

Probably might celebrate the new year with loved ones now....
Almost died coming home from The Marvel Experience. Car spun and was less than an inch from hitting other vehicles and thankfully didn't turn over. Someone was watching over me and my sister. My whole life flashed before my eyes in just a matter of 3 minutes. Gives you a whole new perspective of things.

Thanks. Yes it is scary, the road wasn't icy or anything...yet. She just lost control of the wheel for some freakish reason and her car went all haywire. The other vehicles fortunately didn't touch us. We sat on the side of the road for like 10 minutes trying to gather ourselves.

We're having a small family get-together with one friend. It's Brenda's birthday tomorrow, so she wanted to make a spiral-cut ham tonight with some fixins, watch TCM's rock movies, play a game or two and drink some almond champagne for the first time at Midnight. Tomorrow, we'll have sandwiches, deviled eggs and champagne cake along with a few snacks.

Nothing. All the parties where I've been for the new year were always completely boring, then it's an accursed day to me :D
I stay alone : I put the music at high volumes, I eat foie gras with a glass of wine and it's perfect!
And like every year, I take a stupid selfie of me in front of the TV during the speech of the President. When I'll be 80, I'll have a great photo album.
