But I wasn't sure where a post like this one would fit in, and most likely it would be here, so ... yay me, here I am. :D

I ordinarily don't frequent Message Boards, and when I do it is often anime (Japanese animation) related. But I got bored cos the one I go to is down for a while, and I kinda like movies, so I plugged "movie forum" into Google and I think this was the first hit.

I'm curious just what kind of Board this is. Movie buffs tend to have this thinly veiled sneer permanently fixed to their lips, so I guess I'm cautious. Is this place filled with put-downs and snide little comments, or is there some decent discussions going on? In other words, is this a happy place or a mean place? ;)

Yes, I suppose I could just sift through all the posts and find out for myself (which no doubt I would do soon enough), but that would take some time, and I'm sure I'm likely to miss some nuances. Besides, I'd like to see what you guys think of yourselves (assuming of course that the regulars visit this forum, as its custom for regulars on Boards avoid Intro areas like the plague).

Eh, I'd say a few members have a hint of snob about them, but for the most part this crowd appreciates the blockbuster bubblegum flicks while simultaneously holding an appreciation for the more aesthetical films out there. I think you'll fit right in. :yup:

Which anime board did you belong to? When my daughter got into SailorMoon I lurked/visited around (not many) to find out more about it. But that was a few years ago.

And Aniko, I frequent Animeboards.com. Its quite big. I also have been on Otakuboards.com and Animenation.com before that. This site, by comparison is a little small, but then maybe its more 'comfy'? :D

I remember AnimeNation. I went there looking for SailorMoon merchandise (for my daughter for Christmas). Anyway, I wandered into their forums...is a huge forum.

MoFo is nice. Not too big and not too small and there is something to hold interest for anyone.
