As someone who used to be a kid I found being involved in the sweets manufacturing was what made Christmas for me. No amount of presents will ever replace the memory of helping Grammy taste testing the fudge.

Well, I guess with the extra $600 coming from the government for covid relief, I was able to get a PlayStation gift card for my daughter's boyfriend. I thought I only bought her the slippers she wanted, but I had more. I got her some pajamas right after thanksgiving and a set of saké cups from IKEA for them both. I got them some Christmas candy as well. She mentioned she likes chocolate oranges so I found that and got some Reese's trees. They will get $50 each when finances straighten out.

I’ve seen 11 of these. Great selection of Noir in here that I’ve been wanting to see for some time. Scarlet Street in particular because I love Lang! And Marty Ivers and DOA were also films I’ve been wanting to see. Altogether, a nice mix of genre and decades.
Edit: His Girl Friday, Charade, Penny Serenade and The Frorn Page also stuck out to me as films I’ve been wanting to see at some point.

I have got nothing yet. I didn't go over to my mom's today because of the whole covid thing. My nephew's wife is a firefighter and she cant be around people who recently had covid. My daughter did go and has my holiday card from my mom with a $50 dollar bill in it.

My daughter said she would get me something later.
My son never gets anyone anything but himself. I tell him I dont care if he gets me anything but he should buy his sister something. He's 35 years old and she's 27 years old.

Yeah should be ok I think. Been sickly since around Monday, managed to get a test sent out, arrived today.

I've kinda been isolating since Monday though when the sickness started apart from having to pay some bills this morning.
Wore a mask and a scarf when I did it though to try and be as safe as possible but now I got confirmation I'll be locking up for 10 days or so.

Can't believe how crap TV is though... DVDs it is methinks :D

No Trans Siberian Orchestra this year. I've seen them twice before though. Used to go to this guys display. It was maybe two or three blocks away from my house as the crow flies but more like several hundred thousand dollars in terms of property values. He has since moved it to a local park. Judging by the thousands of people it would draw every year his neighbors probably complained. The actual display starts around the 2:20 mark.

Just met my fathers girlfriend he thought he had cleverly hidden from us for the last year. Seemed nice, but she let it slip they had started seeing each other 3 years ago. Which is right around the time my mother was first diagnosed with cancer.

My mother passed away two years this coming March, so it’s fine he’s moved on. What bothered us is the timeline means they were seeing each other while my mother was on her death bed.

My mom informed me that she picked those because they have actors that I like and she didn't know which "anime" to get me so she didn't get any of them. I had exactly zero anime films on my list and only one of the other two movies I asked for is animated. I've explained to her multiple times over the years that not all animated movies/shows are anime but she still calls everything anime. :lol:

Nice and straightforward: at the parents' house, gonna do a big stocking exchange (and a few small gifts) with most of the family, and likely meet my newborn nephew for the first time. Eat some meatballs, then go home, wife and I will relax and watch TV and movies. Then the two of us'll open presents tomorrow, make a bunch of breakfast food (blueberry pancakes, eggs, sausage, pancakes) and watch something silly and fun. Then she's making a big thing of homemade Chex mix and we'll snack while playing the new Golden Idol game together for awhile.

Actually quite similar to a recent Christmas, can't remember which, maybe 2-3 years ago. I'm a big fan of the giant breakfast food all-day thing for Christmas. Allows us to pig out, but on stuff that doesn't make you feel too sick or full from indulging. Between that and the light snacks it should be a good time.

Took my sister to church on Christmas Eve. I don't have my own congregation anymore, but I found a cute Methodist church that gives me the same good vibe that Immanuel Lutheran gave me as a kid. They always put on a nice Christmas mass.
Today I am taking the same sister to see A Complete Unknown and then have our favorite, Mrs. Satenstein's Hanukkah/the McC****'s Christmas Coffee Cake. It is delicious.
