Did anyone even look at this site?

I thought it was pretty cool. It gives a bunch of information about what happened the year you were born, including movie information.

I even used it to check out other years, like the year hubby was born, the years my parents were born, etc.

I read quite a bit of it. It's quite interesting, though most of it (bar most of the US stuff) I already knew because it's an area of interest and I love 70's nostalgia programmes.

That was a pretty cool website. You know it'd be fun to explore movies from your birth year and figure out which one's your favorite/the best.

To answer the question, apparently the first mammal to be cloned from an adult cell (Dolly the Sheep) was born in the year I was born

Well some of that was quite intense haha.

The Nobel prize for Literature that year went to O-e Kenzaburo-. The Nobel Peace prize went to Yasser Arafat, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres. The Nobel prize for physics went to Bertram Brockhouse from Canada for the development of neutron spectroscopy and for pioneering contributions to the development of neutron scattering techniques for studies of condensed matter. The sensation this created was big. But it didn't stop the planets from spinning, on and on, year by year. Years in which you would grow bigger, older, smarter, and, if you were lucky, sometimes wiser. Years in which you also lost some things. Possessions got misplaced. Memories faded. Friends parted ways. The best friends, you tried to hold on. This is what counts in life, isn't it?

Princess Diana was on the cover of Life. Amadeus won best picture. Talisman was #1 on the bestseller list. (I've loved that book since I was 11) Desmond Tutu won the Nobel Peace prize. That's cool. The portable CD player was invented and Ghostbusters was the top selling movie.
