My random list of television is now ready. Requests for shows may be made, but no guarantees. Let's see how this shakes out and if it can be as random as the ones that SC has done for films in the past.

I don't remember much about "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" because I only watched it when I was very young, but I remember singing along with him while he changed his jacket and shoes, something about a train, and puppets.
Also, his name is Fred "Rogers", not "Rodgers". ("Rodgers" is Richard Rodgers from "Rodgers and Hammerstein".)

There was a time when I watched a lot of this. Got me through some tough times, so I'll always have an affection for it but, for the most part, it's a terrible programme. Especially the latter stuff. I heard that the bouncer got his own show eventually.
Oh, it's also the main reason that The Jeremy Kyle Show exists, so it should burn for that.
You don't get a rep for Fear Factor or Jerry Springer because they are just too horrid for words.

Wow. Is The Jerry Springer Show actually still on the air? I don't see an end date for it. I wonder when it's on and where. I do remember seeing it some years ago. It didn't seem the same to me. It was simply -- someone came out on stage. Someone had cheated on somebody. They started throwing chairs. That was it.
In the '90s, they did this, but it wasn't MANDATORY that they did it all the time, you know? There was a lot more originality to the shows. Sometimes the Ku Klux Klan was on. Sometimes it was flamboyant gays. Sometimes incestuous families. Sometimes strippers, sometimes prostitutes, sometimes drag queens, sometimes transsexuals, sometimes pregnant women, sometimes bestiality people.

I've not seen the US version of Deal Or No Deal, but I have to confess that it looks even worse than ours. Actually, it 'looks' better, but that's the problem. Without the bonhomie from the members of the public in our version (at least at the start of its time here) I can't imagine why anyone would want to watch it.
Coach was a sitcom that was only ever on at about 4am over here. I've seen a few episodes but from which seasons, when, and if they were in sequence I have no idea. It's OK. For the most part, Ive usually liked US sitcoms, so it passes 20 minutes or so.

I've not seen an episode since the early 00's. I watched it in '99 when I got depressed and was only sleeping for 3 or 4 hours a night. It was something I could stare at without paying attention or worrying about what was going to come up. It was ridiculous, but that was the point. As you said, later ones seemed to consist of "JERRY! JERRY! JERRY!" Intos, horrible things being said/done onstage, Jerry turning his back on it all and/or giving a "whaddya gonna do?" shrug to the audience, followed by a calming period before violence and/or chairs being thrown. Repeat.

Jerry Springer was all the rage in the late '90s. At least, it was for me and my family. My aunt loved it. She died in '98, so that was around the time Jerry fever was happening. I used to have a Jerry Springer t-shirt and a poster on my wall. I also went to see the Jerry Springer movie, Ringmaster, when it came out. Remember that movie? With Jaime Pressly.

Next was a show on MTV -- I don't think it's still on? -- where these young people did this sort of speed dating thing. For example, there would be a bunch of guys on a bus. Outside the bus was a young lady who was looking to find a good date. A guy would come off the bus and he and the young lady would have a little date. If she started to get tired of him and realized she didn't like him, she'd holler "NEXT!" and that would mean she was DONE with him. He failed to impress her and the date would be over. Then another guy would come off the bus and they'd do it over again. If neither one of them got sick of each other and said "NEXT!" then the date was a success and they might continue seeing each other outside the show.
It was hilarious because often dates would end immediately as soon as the person came off the bus. Someone could walk off that bus and the other person could immediately judge them based on looks and call out, "NEXT!" Sometimes even the person getting off the bus would take one look at who's waiting for them and go, "NEXT!" This was the best part about the show. The people who don't even get started on the dates and get rejected immediately. They'd get so burned and start telling off the person, then the person who rejected them would start calling them ugly and such and such.
They even had gay people on the show sometimes.

No, I didn't put any frozen stuff in. Nor refrigerated. I don't know if that'd be fun anyway. The fun is carrying as many tins or whatever as you can and just opening your arms and heaving them all in so that they fall in with that clanging sound as they hit the wire of the trolley.

I read about that show's final episode, though I haven't seen it. What an ending! For those who don't know, they actually ended Dinosaurs, a family friendly kids show, by bringing on the Ice Age and killing all the dinosaurs in the series finale. The dinosaur family was actually waiting around in their house, all bundled up in furry coats and stuff, during a huge snowstorm... and they knew they were gonna die and they were just waiting for it! The problem with a show like AGT is that it usually depends on how good the contestants are at what they do. Good talent means a good show, but bad talent can ruin the show.

I used to really like Cops. I'm sure it's exactly the same now and, were I to watch it, I'd like it just as much. Inner Circle's Bad Boys song was the first song I can remember my nephew responding to. When he was about 5 months old he'd start to bop up and down and start to babble along to it whenever it came on. Of course, this meant that we'd play that 30 second clip for ages. :D
I wish the Got Talent shows were The Gong Show type Cowell mentioned when he first annouced he was making them. :( I used to really like The Gong Show.

I was just checking this show out on Youtube (I loved it as a kid) and I found it odd that a kid's trivia show featured a question about Dr. Ruth, a sex therapist.

"Bates Motel" is a great show. Freddie Highmore does a fantastic job as the young Norman Bates. I also like Max Thieriot as his brother Dylan. I'd like to see them focus on him a little bit more sometimes.

I watch "Judge Judy" every day, but for entertainment, not for law lessons. She's a terrible judge. She's too opinionated, and she doesn't listen very well. It's very obvious that most of the time, she's already made her decision before she even hears the case.

I like Bates Motel, but I think I'd prefer it as the mini-series it was intended to be. I watched the first season, but I fell out of it quite easily at the start of the second and don't watch it now.

"I Love Lucy" is one of the best TV shows ever on TV, but it's been shown so often on so many channels that a lot of people got tired of it after a while. Some episodes never get old, but other episodes just aren't as good after you've seen them 50 or 100 times.
Most of my favorite episodes are the ones when they traveled to Hollywood and overseas, and they met all the celebrities, but this scene is one of the funniest scenes ever, on any TV show:

How is it everyone ends up seeing the I Love Lucy episode where they go to Hollywood? Isn't that the episode where they drive there and they get into all kinds of trouble -- the car breaks down and stuff? I haven't seen a lot of Lucy episodes (or maybe I have and I just don't realize it) but I remember the episode where they're driving to California.

I haven't seen some of the episodes in a while, but I don't remember their car breaking down, but they have other problems along the way to Hollywood.
Lucy wrecks the car before they even leave because she tries to learn how to drive. They stop at some little diner and motel where they get ripped off by the manager. They stop in Ethel's hometown, and find out that everyone there thinks that Ethel is the star going to Hollywood, and they get arrested when they meet up with Tennessee Ernie Ford.
In a different episode, Lucy and Ethel also go on a road trip to Florida, and they think they are in a car with a murderer, but she also thinks that Lucy and Ethel are the murderers, so she ditches them on the road somewhere.
The best episodes are after they get to Hollywood. and they meet people like Harpo Marx, Orson Welles, Van Johnson, Richard Widmark, William Holden, etc.
