Alright. Honestly, I didn't realize that everyone else was putting together their lists 3-4 months ago so that they could put out a new top whatever number list this month..... So here's the deal. I just looked back through my other top 100 lists, not great, this one might be a little better but I pretty much just do this to please myself anyway. LOL!

https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcS8J6BeIM1suibmCppz0O13Y0TAGU7if67kGPk8iZcQ3uBW9JV5OA

Anyway, I am going to do 5 films a day until I get to 50, 2 a day to 20 and then 1 a day after that. The ones that will have to be posted while I am on vacation in a few weeks will all be posted at once before I leave. Cause I'm going to the beach.

Edit: Grandma had a stroke 2 days before we were to leave for vacation. So, no more beach.

100. Girl, Interrupted
https://encrypted-tbn2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRt784yvK3CVpF-s3O8K5Bp8-991yqavKhQiJvA8iQk_3n5bfvr
This one probably comes as no surprise to anyone who looked at the last Top 100 I did. This one is still hanging on.

99. Cliffhanger
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/4a/Cliffhanger_Poster.jpg/220px-Cliffhanger_Poster.jpg
This one was barely edged out the last time. I brought it back around this time because I think of this as part of my childhood. It's also part of the reason that I am afraid of heights I think.

98. Red Dawn
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f0/Red_dawn.jpg/220px-Red_dawn.jpg
The 1984 version of this film is the only one worth watching. I liked the new one, but I didn't think that it was nearly as good as the original. That tends to be the case though.

97. Heat
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/6c/Heatposter.jpg/225px-Heatposter.jpg
This is the first film on the list that I, probably, never would have watched if I hadn't gotten on this site. I had actually never heard of it.

96. The Skulls
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/a/a8/Theskullsposter.jpg/220px-Theskullsposter.jpg
This has been one of my favorites since I was in high school.

I'm glad to see The Skulls on your list. I thought I was the only one who liked it.

I've only seen 2 so far on your list:
Girl, Interrupted, an excellent choice.

Red Dawn 1984, also a great choice. The 1984 version is heads above the newer version, IMO of course.

i actually went in an off season as well. It rained and the waves were raging and spent a lot of time at a run down bar with a couple of pool tables a few blocks from the hotel when i wasn't watching the rough weather, which was actually pretty cool for some reason. Had a good time, met a lot of cool people away from the beach and a few that, like me, loved the bad weather and the huge crashing waves

+rep for Girl, Interrupted, Red Dawn and Heat. I'm including Heat despite not actually thinking it's that great. I love watching it, though. It looks great.

Keep em' coming, teeter.

I like Heat best out of your first five :)

Red Dawn is entirely too low. ;) But it made the list with Heat, so all good there.

Love Cliffhanger and Heat; they would probably be in around the same spot if I did another list.

I saw Red Dawn at the movies when it was out, but I can't remember it.

95. The Call
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/c/c0/The_Call_poster.jpg
I was surprised to find out that this was a WWE Studios film. It is really well done and the ending is fantastic!

94. Pitch Black
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/26/Pitch_Black_poster.JPG/220px-Pitch_Black_poster.JPG
This is the best of the series by far. We are introduced to Riddick the bad ass in this movie and we are not disappointed with the character.

93. Blade
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/19/Blade_movie.jpg/220px-Blade_movie.jpg
Ah, Blade. This movie was a staple in my young movie watching life. The hero is good, the side kick is great and the bad guy is fantastic!

92. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/6f/FandlinLV.jpg/256px-FandlinLV.jpg
Fear and Loathing isn't my typical movie type. I am not a huge fan of comedy and hardly ever watch it. This one is amazing!

91. I Am Number Four
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/6/62/I_Am_Number_Four_Poster.jpg/220px-I_Am_Number_Four_Poster.jpg
This is a great take on alien stories. I really need to read the books. LOL!

Fear & Loathing and Pitch Black. I might like The Call, too.

Pitch Black, Blade AND Fear and Loathing? AWESOME set Teeter!

My goal with these lists is always to try to get someone to watch some of the movies that I like that they may not have ever seen. If anyone watches anything that they haven't seen because it was on my list, then it was a success. (Even if it wasn't just because they saw it on my list. ;) )

I liked The Call, Pitch Black, and Fear and Loathing, but not to your extent, and I haven't seen the other 2. Still, it's cool to see some different and interesting selections.

90. The Purge
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/36/The_Purge_poster.jpg/220px-The_Purge_poster.jpg
Honestly, I couldn't tell you why I like this movie so much. The prospect of something like this happening is terrifying.

89. Basketball Diaries
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/26/The_Basketball_Diaries_Poster.jpg/220px-The_Basketball_Diaries_Poster.jpg
Ah, young Leo, what happened?! You were so awesome! Now you are kind of a douche....alas, great film!

88. The Stand
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/bd/The_Stand_%28TV_miniseries%29.jpg/220px-The_Stand_%28TV_miniseries%29.jpg
So technically this is a television mini-series but I like it A LOT!! SO, it made the list.

87. Gravity
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/f/f6/Gravity_Poster.jpg/220px-Gravity_Poster.jpg
Perhaps the newest movie on this list, Gravity is fantastic!

86. Watchmen
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/bc/Watchmen_film_poster.jpg/220px-Watchmen_film_poster.jpg
Alright, I will probably get a lot of crap about this being so far down on my list, but I don't care....

I likes Watchman and Basketball Diaries. Loved Gravity, my favorite from last year.

I feel a strong inclination to turn into Zotis and criticize the quality of films on this list--- I mean, I Am Number Four? The Call? The Purge?--- but it's your list, so I'll keep my mouth shut.

My favorite entry so far is Gravity. I also like Heat, Blade, Girl, Interrupted and Basketball Diaries.

The Stand is one of my favorite books, but I've yet to watch the mini-series. If you've read it, how does it compare?

teeter_g
09-19-14, 09:30 AM
It is the typical book to movie stuff. I am afraid to read the book for fear it will ruin the movie for me, I really want to though.... LOL! Keep in mind that the Purge was once #2 or 3 on one of my lists. I think it is in a MUCH more appropriate place now. :)

85. Cabin in the Woods
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/b8/CitwTeaserSmall.jpg/215px-CitwTeaserSmall.jpg
Probably the best thriller that I have seen in years!

84. O Brother, Where Art Thou?
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/5b/O_brother_where_art_thou_ver1.jpg/220px-O_brother_where_art_thou_ver1.jpg
This movie cracks me up every single time.

83. Boiler Room
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/5c/Boiler_room_ver3.jpg/220px-Boiler_room_ver3.jpg
Just realized that I haven't watched this one in a very long time. A re-watch will most likely be in the near future.

82. The Lost Boys
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/b/b6/Lost_boys.jpg/220px-Lost_boys.jpg
Do I really need an explanation for why this movie is on the list.

81. Mystic River
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/9/93/Mystic_River_poster.jpg/220px-Mystic_River_poster.jpg
This movie is always good for some controversy. LOL! It seems to have polar reactions in different people.

I love Mystic River, in my 100. Seems like I should be an O'Brother fan because I love the Coens so much, I just don't. Even rewatched it a couple months ago thinking, this is it, this time I get it, I am about to laugh my ass off. Nope, just don't think its for me. Remember thinking Boiler Room was fine. Nothing to bring me back again.

80. Insidious
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/2/2d/Insidious_poster.jpg/220px-Insidious_poster.jpg
The lead up to the monster was better, in my opinion, than the actual monster. Thought he was kind of lacking.

79. X-Men
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/8c/XMen1poster.jpg/220px-XMen1poster.jpg
The original is almost always the best and this one is no exception.

78. The Crow
http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/3/39/Crow_ver2.jpg/220px-Crow_ver2.jpg
This is another polarizing movie on this site. People either really like it or really don't, there isn't much leeway.

77. Pandorum

Not a massive amount of films so far that I love (a fair few I've not seen) however in its own way I do love your lists. The reason being that they really are your lists. They are not lists full of films that you're meant to love, that you feel people are just putting on because they want the credit and respect from other members. They are just quite clearly your personal favourites.

Favourites so far are Cliffhanger, O Brother Where Art Thou, Lost Boys, The Crow, Serenity, Thor, There Will Be Blood, X-Men, Gravity, Watchmen, Warriors and I absolutely love The Faculty.

Avatar I sort of loved at the cinema but I think a lot had to do with the experience of seeing it in 3D at the cinema. I've still never revisited it on DVD and am not sure what I'd think of it without the experience of a big screen and 3D visuals.

Oh and The Skulls I've fancied watching for a while and did so a few days ago (partly because of it appearing on your list). Good fun.

Personally I really don't like when people pick series/trilogies as one entry, especially series like The Matrix and it's sequels lumped together when there is a huge gap in quality between the two. Also the Godfather, part 1 and 2 amongst greatest of all time then another big drop off for part 3. Also Kill Bill, many people love part 1 but dislike or like a lot less part 2.

There could be an argument made for LOTR as it is one story, filmed at same time, released a year apart etc.

Your top 100 will end up being a top 150 at this rate.

Not from me. Even though they are very different movies, I love both of these movies.

Casablanca is a no-brainer. It's one of the best movies ever made.

Unlike most people, I prefer The Amazing Spider-Man to the previous Spider-Man series. I thought Andrew Garfield did a great job as both Peter Parker and Spidey, and I thought that Tobey Maguire was too whiney to be a superhero. He just seemed like such a cry-baby.

I'm more of a Marvel fan than a DC fan, and The Avengers is one of my favorite superhero movies. I love the interaction between the main characters, Loki is one of the best villains, and I think Agent Phil Coulson of S.H.I.E.L.D. is awesome.

First time i've visited this thread so there's too much to say what i like individually. I don't really care what anyone says The Godfather Part 3 is great too .

Honestly, it wasn't always in first on the list, I decided after I had been working on putting the rest of it on here that I had the placement of most of the top 10 wrong. I never get tired of watching any of the Potter movies. They the default movie if I can't find any movies that strike me, that made me think that they should be number 1.

I really should at least try the first one at some point.

If it weren't for not knowing what the hell was going on I would tell you to start later in the series. It just gets better with each movie because they get older and the content gets a little darker.

Really interesting choice for number 1. Only seen the first four myself, while none of them would make my list, i wouldn't say any of them were bad films, my personal fav was Chamber of Secrets. Great list teeter :).
