Just thought I'd toss this up.

So far:

1. Flacco somehow allows himself to be sacked while in field goal range at the end of the half. ALL THE SCHADENFREUDE.

2. Steelers romping, but it's the Browns, so...

3. Julio Jones seems completely uninterested in catching passes shorter than 20 yards.

4. Nick Foles is not who we thought he was.

5. Who is Allen Hurns?

6. Gronk may be the best TE of all time when healthy.

Moreno carrying the load in Miami :up:

I still think Foles might be good. Not sure. This might be one of those things where we think one team is bad, but it turns out the other defense is actually good. That happened a few years ago with Arizona when they shut the Pats down; everyone thought "wow, Pats look awful," but the Cards just had a great defense that year.

Robert Griffin NEVER throws the ball farther than five yards.

Browns coming back! How very un-Browns like.

Steelers didn't game plan for Isaiah Crowell:p

Rookie mistake. How can you let that-dude-whose-name-I-already-forgot beat you?

With the Raiders, all things are possible.

Neither of my QBs are doing well, but Carrs keeping up with Dalton. MJD?! Uh,.... no.

Yoda
09-07-14, 05:06 PM
Tongs and I were neck and neck until Dalton threw a long TD and Maclin caught one a minute later.

Got a few players going later who are quite capable of blowing up, though, so we'll see how it shakes out. But he's in the driver's seat right now.

Steelers avoid blowing the game as Roethsliberger does his usual thing and drives down the field in the last minute. 30-27 Pittsburgh.

Buffalo with a first week OT win.:D You guys remind me of this moment when we are 2-6.

Yoda hates Joe Flacco. And I support that.

You know who's almost equally as bad to invest money in? Jay Cutler and his skirt.

Powdered Water

I think I'm gonna say this out loud. I'd rather have Cutler at QB than Romo. I've heard every excuse in the book for the lackadaisical way he plays and you know what? He's careless with the football. And clearly the rest of the team isn't good enough to make up for all the stupid turnovers he makes. Cutler on the other hand seems to have found a really nice system (fantasy wise in particular) to play in. I don't love the guy or anything but if its between those two, I'm on Cutler all day long.

It says a lot about this league and the people in it that I want to win here just as much as the league where I've got money on the line.

In my work league I have RG III and Matt Ryan at QB. Started Ryan. Thank God! Only an 8 team league but winner takes $200. Think I'll join the Mofo league next season.

It's very tough to get into the free, 14-team league (though being a regular you'd have a very good shot if anyone doesn't come back), but we started a pay league this year with a handful of MoFos and offline friends of mine, so if you're down with that we'll almost definitely be able to find a slot next year. You are, of course, quite welcome. :)

Harry Lime

Cool. I'll keep it in mind next year and see what works out.

What's the pay league entry fee?

Yoda
09-07-14, 09:13 PM
It was $50 this year; seems pretty likely we'll keep it there next season. We got 10 people, since this is the first season and it can be notoriously hard to sign people up for pay leagues if they don't all know each other in real life, but I'm pretty sure next year we can get 12.

It's hard to find trustworthy, decently-run leagues, pay or otherwise, so I think we'll get a lot of return players.

Devin Hester the most relevant WR4 around? Were the Bears just using him wrong? He came up very clutch today. I was pretty angry about our 1.8m cap hit when he was acquired, now I'm surprisingly optimistic about his potential in our offense. Matt Ice killing it with 9 different receivers! Such an elite arm when he has protection.

Hey, it's Fiscal! What's up man? :) How's the move?

Fiscal

Heyyy. Finally settling in. Military to university student transition has been interesting. Now I am a 26 year old in freshmen classes. The use of "like" as a verbal pause every other word when my peers are engaged in conversation with the professors may be the death of me.

Oh Calvin Johnson. It's beautiful.

I just started season 5 of The League. There was an episode starring Rafi and Dirty Randy, I'm still laughing.

Cruz with a whopping 4 points, Megatron over 30. 0-1. Not how I wanted to start the season.

I've gotta stop sucking in this league.
