Hi everyone,

I'm new to this but felt the need to give my opinion about this movie.

Now! The musical score alone gets your emotions going... You feel the tension all the way through the movie. Kate Winslet is an excellent actress and you absolutely identify with her character.

The use of intermittent flashbacks to reveal the characters' pasts was well done and the ending was also "morally satisfactory". The "murderer" served his prison time and still got the girl. I'm a sucker for a happy ending...

"Frank" as played by Josh Brolin is where my problems begin...

His lovable convict character is overdone! He can fix every problem: the step, the door, the car. He knows that the firewood is less than it should be at a glance, teaches the boy to play baseball, is kind to the child with cerebral palsy and knows how to bake peach pie. A bit much don't you think?
