Marathi movies are really coming of age. They always had a certain charm and I have always loved how they grasped the human spirit. Now there is a wave of young new directors making indie type movies. One such is Ek Hazarachi Note.

This is quite a movie considering the fact that its been directed by debut director Shrihari Sathe. The movie revolves around Buddhi played by veteran actress Usha Naik, she holds her own in the film and carries the film on her shoulders. Technically theres much to be added to the film. But when you consider the story and acting etc. its very well executed. There are many sensitive issues covered in the film like farmer suicide, vote banks, etc… which in my opinion was handled quite sensitively. I would give it a 4/5 and recommend that you catch it. Note it’s got English subtitles 
