I'd just like to say this is my first attempted review, so help me out with your opinions and of course you don't have to agree with what I say but hopefully we can all discuss this together? :) Oh and spoiler alert?

First off I would just like to say what a great film this was, it has the perfect balance of comedy, action, thrills and excitement which many superhero films aren't as successful at achieving. 'The Avengers' for example contains one or two funny moments which got the viewer smirking but when watching it in the cinema it just get the audience giggling as much as 'The Amazing Spider Man 2' did.

As we are introduced to the new cast I can tell this film is going to be good, however the early introduction to Paul Giamatti's role got me feeling a little less excited for his part in the film and Im kinda glad that his role was only minor. He didn't provide with that rhino jibe, and when I say that I mean when I picture 'Aleksei Sytesevich' I imagine a big, rough looking Russian who has a that fearful scowl but Paul Giamatti only provides us with the big factor and not the violently aggressive criminal he's meant to be. On the bright side he has two years to practise his Russian accent and evil scowl, that is of course if 'The Amazing Spider Man 3' picks up from where the second has left off which is most likely going to happen.

We are then brought on to be introduced to the invisible Max Dillon as played by the incredible Jamie Foxx. Not much to say really about this character as he was simply outstanding achieving the two completely different roles, especially his electrifying role of the anger filled Electro. Although most of the scenes that this incredible villain was involved in I most likely could have suffered an epileptic fit or at least suffered temporary blindness I still never failed to feel the excitement and thrills of the battles. I loved how the character made the audience fear him as well.

And then there was Dane Dehaan, who actually got me researching who he was because before the second film I had never heard of him but Im glad he was cast for Harry. Looking at the entire line up for possible choices, it was clear what type of guy Webb was looking for; I got the impression Webb was looking for a guy who had a lost childhood and almost like the character of Max Dillon was in his own world, however one big difference being is that Harry would have to provide the creepiness into his role and I personally believe that is what he achieved. The grass is always greener on the other side, well unless you're Harry Osborn and you inject yourself with human-spider hybrid DNA that isn't compatible with his blood thus creating the rather scary looking Green Goblin. In comparison with the original Green Goblin I thought that it was a cross between the original Green Goblin (Harry Osborn) and the original films Green Goblin (Norman Osborn). The battle suit truly was incredible, it was rough not at all like the space man type armour of the original film and then the face, kinda like the classic comic Joker you know with the big pointed chin and evil, laugh? Yeah jokes aside though I can't wait to see more of the Green Goblin in the third instalment.

The ending... Well I felt disappointed with the ending, not the end end where the rhino battle begins but the moment I felt the movie ended, the night that Gwen Stacy died in all honesty I knew that there would be a slight twist like this but I was hoping that it wouldn't be true, the whole death of Gwen is brought to life in the film and Spidey sadly kills the beautiful Emma Stone *sigh*. As much as I love a twist, this was one twist I wish was never scripted. I absolutely adore Emma Stone so when she actually died I could have walked out, I mean why would you kill off such an incredible actress? there are few things I would like to say upon Gwens death but I feel that if I number them below then you guys could just respond to the corresponding numbers so here goes...

1) Wouldn't it be good to have had the tetralogy go on the path of Peter and his love for Gwen considering the original trilogy used MJ as the main love interest?
2) The death was to early, even though I wouldn't have wanted the death I believe that they could have at least killed Gwen off in the third film and have spidey end the series with a single film involving a new love interest or none at all, that way we don't have two films where Peter ignores his late ex by taking his sexual needs with MJ or whoever is next.
3) What was the point in killing off Gwen at all? I know it makes a good twist and it does follow the story but why not have the Green Goblin continue ruling through the third film, to see the night Gwen Stacy dies and then have the death of the Green Goblin later on as an act of revenge or anger in mourn of his beloved Gwens death.
4) WHY KILL EMMA STONE? What about Aunt May, or someone else why her :'(

In all fairness I can see the reasons for killing her but the on screen chemistry between the real life couple was magical and thats something that many superhero films don't have, an adorable couple who are perfect together... right now though I jut hope there isn't another love interest lined up for Peter because his grieving of the one girl who helped him be who he was is what could help him continue but whatever. Thanks for that Webb - and I don't mean the web that gave Stacy the murderous whiplash either.
