I have trying to bring my photography up to a new level recently and have been taking it a lot more seriously. I tend to do a lot of photos of buildings, nature, animals and random things that catch my eye.

One thing I would like to do is to photograph people but I am struggling to get the confidence to ask people if I can photo them. I will post some photos when I can post links on here but I wondered if we had any other photographers here? If you do what kind do you do and what do you prefer to take photos of?

I'm just a person who takes loads of photos then a couple turn out good, more a luck than judgement kind of snapper ;)
Have to share this with you tho, this morning I was having trouble remembering my password for my flikr account so googled my username and saw a link to the magazine Vanity Fair. They used one of my photos in a spoof series entitled "where's Quaddafi?"

There's a pretty good rule with photography...

Imagine a 9 square grid in the picture... the points of interest in the picture should be where the corners meet...

That way, there's a kind of framing around the object using the background, rather than just a simple portrait.
