Of all the shows I'd ever think I'd get roped into watching.....a PBS drama about some noble english manor turn of the 20th century?!

Believe it. Downton Abbey is the #1 show in all of television for intrigue, and acting bar none. Its just finished its 4th season, each season comprising of 9 episodes, and an episode of Abbeys something to behold. Dense storyline, dense!

I hope you give it a chance like I did. It is exceptional.
