Now here the film based in Ancient Rome which surely can be considered a trailblazer in movies. This movie was the first to depict Rome not as a luxury Mr. Clean area, but a somewhat run downed area full of Graffiti and plenty of straw beds to sleep in. The movie is chaotic and the script is not well connected, but the visual effect is excellent and you must keep in mind that CGI had not been invented yet. This movie was an attempt to show ancient Rome as it was. There is little murder and just a few scenes where human milk glands are exposed. The movie is 3 hours long. There are two scenes worth noting, the first is when a teenage boy was made up to look like a cute young girl and the other is when a real hermaphrodite is discovered and the Romans think he is a god. This is a critical movie for the real movie buff.
