About a year ago, I tried my hand in a favorites list ignoring the fact that......well.....I haven't seen many great movies! My list has changed at an amazing rate since then and I plan on finishing it this time. I have many different genres, such as horror and documentaries, to musicals and dramas. This is more a personal experience that I have actually took time to think about this time and construct a list that I am happy with! I will be going three at a time until the top 10, then I will do singles! I hope you enjoy, I know I did!

100.) Wreck-It Ralph

http://images7.alphacoders.com/321/321925.jpg

Fun film that me and my son watch about 5 times a week with some very memorable characters and scenes. Loads of family entertainment here!

99.) Ace in the Hole

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_PIM9g2cmfUU/TMkz7RFDQXI/AAAAAAAAB2A/7eqWrtd5vRc/s1600/Annex%2520-%2520Douglas,%2520Kirk%2520%28Ace%2520in%2520the%2520Hole%29_NRFPT_05.jpg

Snappy, quotable dialogue, simple story, and a magnificent cast. Definitely worthy of a spot on my list. Need to see more Douglas films if anyone has any suggestions.

98.) Spiderman 2

http://spiderman-wallpapers.com/bulkupload/spiderman-wallpaper/Spiderman%202%20Movie/Spiderman2-Doc-Octavius.jpg

Definitely one of the best comic book films made to date. It really makes me wonder what Raimi was thinking with the third installment. This was also one of my favorite theater experiences, also. Great film!

Good start! I have not seen the second of the three, but Wreck it Ralph was lots of fun and Spider Man 2 was awesome!

Wreck It Ralph was my favorite animation in a long time. My boys love it also, so yeah I am a little burnt out on it. Really want to see Ace In The Hole sooner than later, unfortunately I have quite a bit of movies I can say that about. It will keep moving up the watch list though. Spiderman 2 is a good not great superhero flick in my opinion.

Wreck it Ralph is great animation movie and Spider-Man 2 is a awesome sequel that is better than Spider-Man. I really would like to see Ace in the Hole someday and you have a great list so far Fuze.

I've never heard of Ace in the Hole but wil look out for it on cable.

Spider-Man 2 was a little cheesy for me, but not bad by any means. Wreck-It-Ralph was pretty awesome, though.

Spider-Man 2 is a great superhero film, Wreck-It Ralph was decent (I didn't love it as much as some people), and Ace in the Hole looks like something I would love and I have been meaning to watch it for a while.

My thoughts would echo those of Gunslinger exactly. Not seen Ace in the Hole although I actually recorded it just a week or two ago. Seen the other two though, I really like Wreck-It-Ralph and love Spider-Man 2.

I love both the first and second of these films, but I have to say this one is more enjoyable. Plus, the Tim Curry character is a nice inclusion. Great family fun for the holidays, or just a quiet afternoon!

96.) Mallrats

http://www.the-editing-room.com/img/mallrats.jpg

Kevin Smith's first, but definitely not last, inclusion on this list. Great characters, memorable scenes, and Jay and Silent Bob! Love the Stan Lee cameo!

95.) Suspiria

http://tommygirard.files.wordpress.com/2012/11/suspiria11.jpg

Truly a horror classic, tense buildup, and an atmosphere that is easily one of the most terrifying of my list. At first, this was a tough watch because I am not much of a horror fan, but I am glad I did. Creepy soundtrack, also!

Love Suspiria. The vibrant colors, the awesome soundtrack and the suspense make it one of my all-time favorite horror flicks. The film is just stunning visually. Home Alone 2 is a childhood favorite of mine, I honestly think I like it more than the first one.

Home Alone 2 is an immense lot of fun and highly rewatchable, although I much prefer the first one.

I could honestly watch Suspiria just for the soundtrack, which is haunting and endlessly entrancing. Unfortunately, the rest of the movie never aeemed to live up to that one aspect of it. It's almost like an incredibly good music video: apropos visuals matched with incredible music.

Not seen Suspiria or Mallrats, with neither exactly top of my must watch list; that's particularly true of Mallrats because my general distaste for Kevin Smith.

Home Alone 2 however I love.

I may have seen Home Alone 2 but I'm not sure, and I can't envision a scenario where I'd watch it now.

I used to want to see Suspiria but actually don't anymore. I've heard nothing but good things, but just don't think it would work for me personally.

I haven't seen Mallrats yet but think I will try it at some point.

Cool variety.

94.) Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

http://headinavice.files.wordpress.com/2013/05/star-wars-episode-v-the-empire-strikes-back-wallpapers-2.jpg

Iconic roles, great action, awesome twists and turns, just a classic. I am not the largest Star Wars fan, and *SPOILER* this is the only of the movies on my list, but I will say Lucas at least did three things right. The original trilogy was great, but this was by far my favorite of the lot.

93.) The Shining

http://idyllopuspress.com/idyllopus/film/images/shining/sh_elevatorfromwendysview.jpg

Not the highest listed horror movie on my list, but the scariest psychological experience I have ever laid eyes on. Kubrick's vision and dedication to the source material (which is much scarier) makes this a classic. Also, if you ever want to know about little Danny Torrance many years later, check out Doctor Sleep. Great read.

92.) Anchorman

http://media.screened.com/uploads/0/3423/516823-screenshot_lrg_31.png

Hilarious. Great characters and cameos galore. Ron Burgandy is the ****! Quote after quote and.......BRICK! I love this film and keep it near the DVD player!

A couple of all time greats and a solid comedy; awesome.

It's funny you mentioned Danny Torrance. My parents used to tell me that I almost got that role; I always dismissed it and actually forgot about it as I got older. I recently looked up the actor and found out that like me, he's from Chicago and had no acting experience. My parents had told me that there was some kind of open audition. Me and the actor looked alike and were close in age. Also, my parents weren't movie buffs; they wouldn't know that he was from Chicago. Maybe there was some truth to it? I don't know.

91.) The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

http://www.fakepigskin.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Clint.jpg

Eastwood at his best and some great direction from Leone makes for an instant spot on my list. Classic! Great music also!

90.) VHS 2

http://timsfilmreviews.files.wordpress.com/2013/06/vhs-2-slumber-party-alien-abduction2.jpg

A great collection of creepy stories told in an original fashion, this film slightly edges out the first one for the third video alone. Great inclusions from all of the directors!

89.) Mulholland Drive

http://50ansdecinema.files.wordpress.com/2011/03/mulholland-drive.png

Great film. Seeming to be pure nonsense on my first viewing, I gave it another shot not long ago, and since then have watched it 3 more times and have to say I adore it more each time. A true masterpiece of suspense and needs multiple viewings. I could go on about it, but I will give that review another day!

Yea no doubt; unfortunately I'll never know if it's true.

Another awesome pick with TGTBATU, and I quite enjoyed Mulholland Drive-I adore Naomi Watts. I hadn't planned on watching VHS 2 because I didn't care for the first one. Now I will try it.

88.) 12 Angry Men

http://fogsmoviereviews.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/12_angry_men_lee_j_cobb_bellowing.png

Great character study and an amazing cast led by Fonda, but the main reason this made my list was this guy on the picture, Lee J. Cobb. What a great character! Great, simple story with a dialogue that pulls you in early and doesn't let go. Classic.

87.) Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Rings

http://thatishouldgain.files.wordpress.com/2010/10/lotrfrodogrieve.jpg

Beautiful scenery, great action, remarkable characters, and an gorgeous soundtrack. Peter Jackson shows us this world as no one else could, and casting could not have been more spot on. Glad I finally checked these out about a month ago! Took way too long to see the trilogy.

86.) The Godfather

http://sweetsynecdoche.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/the-godfather.jpg

In my previous list try, I included this and The Godfather II as one selection, but after a few times watching them, *LIST SPOILER!!!!* I really enjoy the second one immensely more than this one. I still could not think of a list where this was not included, because it is a classic masterpiece that does well by itself, although I never watch one without the other still to this day!

The Empire Strikes Back is my favorite Star Wars film. They just nailed everything perfectly with that one!

The Shining is only good because of jack nicholson's performance and Kubrick's subtle direction. Shelley Duvall, though, is an absolutely horrendous actress and the kid was not much better. It constantly flutters between a high 7.5 and a low 8 for me.

Anchorman is hilarious and never goes too over-the-top for me (which I find is a problem with most comedies). It struck the perfect balance between strait-faced humor and zany antics.

I haven't seen VHS 2, but I was not a fan of the first film.

12 Angry Men and The Fellowship of the Ring are two of my absolute favorite movies (he latter of which is my #1). The Godfather is likewise fantastic, one that i think that I will appreciate more on a second viewing.

Star Wars: Episode V, The Shining, Anchorman, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Mulholland Drive, 12 Angry Men, The Lord of the Rings and The Godfather are all good or great films

Also I find it interesting how depending on who you ask Shelley Duvall's performance is either genius or terrible. I think it might be underrated, she's annoying and weird, but it's kind of the point, Kubrick was said to have actually driven her insane with constant re shoots and such, she does genuinely seem terrified in the film. Mark Kermode, probably the best British film critic and a huge horror fan loves her performance and doesn't really like Nicholson's actually.

I can overlook (no pun intended ;)) Duvall, but I do agree.....she is terrible. If you didn't like the first VHS, chances are the second will not be enjoyable either; they are carbon copies almost. That being said, I loved them both, but the third video alone is the reason I chose the second over the first.

You see, the first few times I saw this movie, I told myself the same thing... "She could just be in character..."; stuff like that. I mean she was annoying before the hotel possessed Jack, and, honestly, I couldn't see it being as menacing and terrifying if she WASN'T annoying and was generally loved and regarded as a trophy, because maybe those feelings were bubbling in him from the get go.....but after watching it, I think she is just rather annoying in general! Never really seen her in anything else, though, so I do not know how to feel about her. Either way, like I said, I can look past her character and enjoy everything else!

Shelley Duvall is outrageously annoying in 3 Women, Nashville, Annie Hall and some others, but probably her most-criticized performances, Wendy Torrance and Olive Oyl, seem sympathetic in comparison.

85.) The Silence of the Lambs

http://fogsmoviereviews.files.wordpress.com/2011/07/large20silence20of20the20lambs4.jpg

Anthony Hopkins in one of his best roles, this is one of my all-time favorite movies. Haunting imagery, great dialogue, and an iconic turn in from Hopkins and Foster make this a must see to me.

84.) Super 8

http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-CUqtSIKpyuY/Tj8eA2CJ7DI/AAAAAAAAQSU/1m9hETpM12I/s1600/super-8-2.jpg

I knew this movie would be on my list upon first viewing. I love the friendship with the kids, the family problems, the monster, everything. Great film from an awesome director!

83.) Punch Drunk Love

http://cineplex.media.baselineresearch.com/images/170705/170705_full.jpg

Big Adam Sandler fan, and it was good to see he could do more than mindless comedies. Also, Hoffman has always been one of my favorite actors, so I am glad I finally checked this out, because it was a welcomed surprise and has been one of my favorites since.

http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-9a0baHDS2Kk/Tjl8K9oU8jI/AAAAAAAACbQ/NyhWDEEosqQ/s1600/Nicolas+Cage+Adaptation.PNG

Great cast, highly addictive dialogue, awkward silences and smooth direction. Spike gives the characters life and real troubles and obstacles to face, and I highly recommend this to anyone. Cage is an incredible actor when he wants to be!

81.) Nosferatu

http://sangbleu.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/nosferatu-4.jpeg

Chilling music, atmosphere, and tension make this a great watch for me and deserved a spot! Simple story, haunting imagery, and seemingly real to me, the shadow of Nosferatu has crept in my nightmares for years. Great flick!

80.) Jaws

http://popdose.com/wp-content/uploads/Jaws_Surprise.jpg

I was never a fan of Adaptation, and though I liked it, I was never as much of a Jaws fan as everybody else seems to be. Jurassic Park is a great film whose special effects really hold up even today (like Terminator 2, it's the mix of cg and physical effects that creates a seamless illusion of modern-day dinosaurs).

Chilling imagery, fun dialogue, and some trippy ass scenes, this movie is a powerful experience. The neglected baby still gives me nightmares to this day.

A brilliant end to a fabulous story, breathtaking visuals and a soundtrack worthy of praise in itself, this film is just epic.

74.) It

http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c350/Emn1ty/STEPHEN_KING_S_IT-1.jpg

As big a Tim Curry fan I am, that clown made me piss the bed so many childhood nights. This and Killer Klowns from Outer Space solidified my hatred for clowns, but that doesn't change the fact that this movie is still being popped into my DVD player all the clown-hating time. What can I say....I love to be scared!

Lucas

Trainspotting is solid, love LoTR:ROTK, and "It" is one of my favorite childhood films. The first half of "It" is genuinely fantastic and extremely well made, its the second half I feel falls apart. Pennywise was absolutely terrifying to me back when I was younger.

68.) The Departed

The scene depicted in the picture above is one of my all-time favorites. What an ensemble cast. Great direction, awesome story, slick dialogue, gruesome scenes, it has everything. Amazing 5 movie!

I think that Lucas really nailed by It doesn't quite work for me, the same reason why I don't absolutely love A Nightmare on Elm Street: the first half of the movie is far less intense than he second half. It starts out fairly strong, but quickly (and dramatically) loses steam after the first 20 or so minutes.

Return of the King would have easily been my favorite of the trilogy if it just wouldn't have stumbled so much. It reduced Legolas to the stater of the obvious, Gimli to comic relief, suffered from too many "fade out" endings and had that terrible skull-avalanche scene. The rest of it was fantastic, however, even without The Scourging of the Shire (whose exclusion I simultaneously understand). It's still a high 9.5/10 for me.

The Sandlot is easily one of the best coming of age films out there (my personal favorite being Mud). It's a movie that I always enjoy rewatchi.

Mrs. Doubtfire is always a fun movie to watch: equal parts outrageous comedy and heartwarming drama. It's another endlessly rewatchable film.

The Departed is another 10/10 favorite of mine: complex, moving, brilliantly directed / acted. It is easily my favorite Jack Nicholson performance (the first among equals), Matt Damon performance and Mark Whalberg performance. It's also has as good of DiCaprio and Baldwin performances as you could have hoped for from any movie. It's only downside is that it does drag somewhat in the final third / quarter of the film.

Independence Day is definitely one Hell of an entertaining movie. It's a bunch of easy, laid-back fun with some solid performances and good special effects.

Both The Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump are easy 10/10s for me. For a long time they were my #1 and #2 favorite movies (currently my #22 and #24) The acting, direction and writing for both are just pitch-perfect. It's mind -boggling to me that these two and The Lion King all came out in the same year (plus honorable mentions Pulp Fiction and The Crow).

62.) Inside Man

I don't seem to be as much of a fan of The Thing as most people, though I still do very much like it. Its makeup / costuming / physical effects were all top-of-the-line, comparable to Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn in a lot of ways.

Children of Men is another excellent choice. The direction / cinematography were both exceptional, and I love the nativity parallels (very fitting choice for Christmas Eve, come to think of it).

Opposite of The Thing, I seem to enjoy Inside Man a lot more than most people do. It's good to see another fan of the film.

Forrest Gump and The Shawshank Redemption are two excellent feel-good films, and two of the best films of 94', and I'm kind of mixed on Independence Day. Its not a particularly "good" film, but its amusing in an over the top, overly patriotic Merica' type of way.

The Thing is a horror masterpiece, and Children of Men is a fantastic piece of sci-fi. The cinematography is outstanding in COM.

Great second half of the movie and solid acting, crazy tension towards the end and Chastain's best performance make for a great film.

59.) Goodfellas

http://www.themovies.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/goodfellas_22.png

And 1994 rears its head again in Pulp Fiction. :) It's definitely a great movie. Like most of Tarantino's films, I didn't like it at first, though it has grown on me upon subsequent viewings.

I was surprised how well paced Zero Dark Thirty was. I expected a much slower and less interesting movie. It was basically a more exciting version of The Hurt Locker for me (which I also liked).

Watchmen is a fantastic film. While I'm not always a fan of Snyder's "Style Over Substance" approach to film, but this is him at his absolute best.

Since I can't see the picture, I can't say for sure which Halloween you mean. Assuming that it's the original, it is yet another 10/10 choice (we seem to have reasonably similar tastes). The opwning tracking shot is one of te beat pieces of artistry that i've ever seen. The way in which Carpenter inserts us as the killer in the movie is very intimately unsettling.

Animal house is hilarious, even if I don't seem to be as taken with it as others are. Still, this is high on my list of comedies.

From this page-

The Thing is also in my top 100; an all time great horror film.

Children of Men and Inside Man: I plan on rewatching both as I fell asleep during both. Not from boredom, but from exhaustion.

Pulp Fiction is in my top 25.

Zero Dark Thirty won't quite make my top 100 but it's a great film. I really like that director.

Goodfellas is my favorite film.

I haven't seen Watchmen but have heard a lot of great things and would definitely try it.

Halloween is not quite a favorite but I like it and it is a classic.

I'm psyched to see Animal House on your list. It's in my top 25 and I've always loved it. It will be high on my 70's list.

Batman: I just thought this was ok. I loved Nicholson in it, but I love him in everything.

I've never seen Beethoven and probably won't at this point.

Love Old School, in my top 100.

I almost watched Trick 'R Treat recently for the first time. I'll make sure to watch it now.

I couldn't get into A Beautiful Mind the first time. I'll try it again.

The Wizard of Oz is pure magic; it means a lot to me.

I haven't seen The Avengers yet, but will.

Trick 'r Treat will more than likely make it in my top 20performance next time I update this list because I love it more each time. Beethoven is a childhood classic so to watch it now would probably be a little less magical, but I plan on watching it with my kid soon. The Avengers is great mindless summer fun. Children of Men is a better film than Inside Man in my opinion, but I have Inside Man one step higher for Denzel's performance and it is just a tiny bit more rewatchable for me. Watchmen actually took a couple viewings for me to really connect but now I love it!

One of the greatest revenge films ever made in my opinion, I put both of these movies together because I never watch one without the other and feel the exact same about both of them, which is this movie is brilliant! Some of the most fun I have ever had with a first viewing and also my first ever Tarantino film, Thurman lights up the screen like no one else. Blazing fast pace at times and slower when it needs to be, these films compliment each other so well.

http://www.arcatatheater.com/wpsite/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/wall_e_POSTER.jpg

Who needs human interaction for a magical film? Of course, there is in the late of the film, but the real magic of this film is this beloved character's amazing way to grasp the hearts of many without doing much of anything. I adore this film more and more as time goes by. Definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen.

http://earnthis.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/Wall-E-l.jpg

This robot made me feel more emotional than almost any live action movie ever has. The end has had me jerking back tears for the past few years and smiling an ear to ear smile that rarely is seen for a man my age. Simple family fun, even after all these years! I love my Disney classics, but this is one of the top ones for me! I especially liked the crows :)

41.) A Fistful of Dollars
Directed by Sergio Leone
Starring Clint Eastwood

This is actually my favorite of the trilogy. I really enjoyed them all, but I didn't want to put them all on my list, because, frankly, this is the only one that truly stuck out for me. I thought the action was better and I loved the introduction to the mysterious character. Definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen.

I do not dislike the other films at all, and I think TGTBATU is the best overall film of the series, but this is my favorite. Love me some Eastwood! Need to check out more Leone.

Yeah, I liked the other two quite a bit, but the first one is the one that really blew me away.

SOME OF THE NEXT FEW PICKS ARE VERY UNCONVENTIONAL!!! Try to remember this is my list, as a few of these are plain awful, but they are my favorites for a reason :)

I like the sound of that. :yup: Really personal lists always make for the most interesting.

Dumbo I've not seen since I was a kid and remember very little about it, except for the vivid Pink Elephants on Parade sequence. Fistful of Dollars is actually the only film I've seen of the trilogy and didn't really care for it. Though I thought Morricone's score was fantastic.

You already have some of my all time favorites on here (Adaptation, Punch Drunk Love, Wall.E, etc.) Can't wait to see the rest! :)

EDIT: Didn't even realize that you said you were getting married tomorrow. Congrats!

Fistfull of Dollars is the weakest Sergio Leone movie imo, but is still a fantastic film
