I'll start with year 2012, since 2013 hasn't been completely viewed from what I would like to see. Then again, no year really is.

2012

Favorite- Flight

http://i2.cdn.turner.com/cnn/dam/assets/121101041825-flight-movie-still-horizontal-gallery.jpg

Why: My favorite performance of the year combined with an extremely well directed film from one of the more underrated directors of our time in Robert Zemeckis. Denzel's performance of Captain Whip Whittaker just adds to his brilliant resume, and I'm glad to see that he was Oscar nominated for it. There were also great supporting performances, particularly John Goodman and Don Cheadle. Everything in this film worked for me from Point A to Point B. Favorite part? Probably the beginning to the Flight, where it packs in much suspense and keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Close to the Top
2. The Avengers- from a comic book standpoint, it's hard to argue this is one of the greater films for me. Solid action throughout with a great story.
3. The Impossible- again, it's the performances that drive this film. Watts was outstanding, as was Tom Holland
4. Silver Linings Playbook- David O. Russell delivers his best film to date, and Lawrence and Cooper were absolutely phenominal.
5. Skyfall- Bond got back to where it needs to be. The cinematography of the film was the most stunning of any Bond film that I've seen.

Solid films
6. The Dark Knight Rises
7. Django Unchained
8. Les Miserables
9. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
10. Argo

Best Performances- Actor
1. Denzel Washington- Flight
2. Hugh Jackman- Les Miserables
3. Bradley Cooper- Silver Linings Playbook

Actress
1. Naomi Watts- The Impossible
2. Jennifer Lawrence- Silver Linings Playbook
3. Anne Hathaway- Les Miserables

Random 2012-
Rise of the Guardians was my favorite animated film...Ted was the funniest movie that I have seen out of this year....Life of Pi was the most visually brilliant film....Argo was ok but wouldn't have been my choice for the oscar....My least favorite film was The Master, which I blame more on PTA that the actors and actresses involved...Daniel Day-Lewis would be my 4th favorite performance, in a much weaker than normal Spielberg film.

I loved Flight; movies with characters who struggle with addiction are of particular interest to me. I've heard some say they didn't buy the ending. But that's what happens when you hit rock bottom, you cry out for help. Denzel was great.

My main computer is giving me fits, hence no pictures but here is my thoughts on 2011, an obvious down year for me in regards to what I have actually seen.

2011 Favorite
1. The Descendants

Other Solid films
2. Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
3. Midnight in Paris
4. The Artist
5. Cowboys and Aliens
6. Thor
7. The Hangover Part 2
8. The Help
9. My Week With Marilyn
10. Young Adult

Performances by Actors
1. George Clooney
2. Jean Dujardin
3. Owen Wilson
4. Robert Downey Jr.
5. Chris Hemsworth

Performances by Actresses
1. Viola Davis
2. Shailene Woodley
3. Berenice Bejo
4. Octavia Spencer
5. Charlize Theron in Young Adult

Wackiest movie seen is Hysteria. Overall weak year for films. Literally only The Descendants would have cracked 2012s list. Best ensemble cast goes to Midnight in Paris. Shailene Woodley was my favorite supporting role, male or female. Michelle Williams would be #6 for her performance in My Week With Marilyn. The Green Hornet is my least favorite of 2011. Super 8 was my biggest letdown.

The Descendants was a solid, effective movie, but I didn't enjoy it that much. I put myself into the main character's shoes, and it bothered me.

My favorites from that year were Kill List, Warrior, and Bellflower.

2010- a down year from what I've seen, though there's tons of unseen for me

Favorite

http://trailers.apple.com//705/us/media/galleries/wb/inception/inception38_720.jpg

1. Inception

The film that cemented Christopher Nolan as legit in my opinion. A well castes movie that keeps you on the edge of your seat throughout the film. In particular, Leonardo Di Caprio did a sensational job. The sound and the cinematography are top notch, and they keep you hooked throughout. Just simply a fantastic film, one of my favorites from Mr. Nolan.

Close to the top
2. The Fighter- I'm obviously a big David O. Russell guy, so this is a film that definitely intrigued me. I'm generally not a huge Wahlberg guy but he did very well in this film. Stealing the show of course was Christian Bale, with an astounding performance. And I can't forget to mention one of my favorite actresses, Amy Adams giving an Oscar worthy performance. This is the film that showed me exactly what David O. Russell can do.

3. The Town- I would put it a good notch below the top 2. It's not as good as Afflecks Gone Baby Gone, but it adds to Afflecks legitimacy as a director. I've always been a fan of movies filmed in Boston so that helps too. It's a good film that wouldn't make my top 100 if I were to fill one out again today but it would be near the fringe.

Others
4. Due Date- I liked the Downey Jr. And Galifanakis combo
5. Iron Man 2- definitely nowhere near the first but it was still a fun film.

Best Performances Actor
1. Christian Bale- The Fighter
2. Leonardo Di Caprio- Inception
3. Robert Downey Jr. - Due Date
4. Ryan Gosling- Blue Valentine
5. Mel Gibson- Edge of Darkness

Best Performances Actresses
1. Amy Adams- The Fighter
2. Rebecca Hall- The Town
3. Michelle Williams- Blue Valentine
4. Blake Lively- The Town
5. Ellen Page- Inception

Random thoughts- Rachel McAdams in Morning Glory would just miss the cut because it simply isn't a role that let's her shine.....li haven't see a lot of films, the ones I'd most want to see would be Black Swan and Winters Bone, both who would most that likely feature actresses who would make my list. I haven't seen The Kings Speech or Toy Story 3 either.

I thought Due Date and Iron Man 2 were really poor films. Not a big fan of The Town, either.

Some of my favorites from that year included:
Black Swan
Inception
Animal Kingdom
Mother
Kick-Ass
True Grit
Fish Tank
Winter's Bone
Dogtooth
How to Train Your Dragon

I love Inception and The Fighter as well. Social Network is by far my favorite of that year. True Grit is also fantastic. I don't think it was released until 2011 in America, but yeah, that's another highly-recommended film. Everyone raves about Oldboy, but I Saw the Devil is my favorite South Korean film.

2009- a year with some great favorites in it

The favorite- State of Play

http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/the-ticket/css/state%20of%20play%202.jpg

Many people haven't seen this film, and those that have usually don't like it. This is one of my more personal films, perhaps as a child wanting to be a journalist has something to do with that. But from beginning to end, I thoroughly enjoy this film after countless times of seeing it. I saw it in the theaters when it first came out and it has struck me ever since. The star studded cast is excellent, with Russell Crowe, Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren, Ben Affleck, Robin Wright all brilliant. It doesn't stop there, with great mini performances from actors such as Jason Bateman among others. It blends action, drama, and laughs into being my favorite film from 2009.

VERY CLOSE contenders
2. Up- One of pixars finest and most touching films that has always been a very personal film of mine too. The beginning of the film is particularly one of the greatest animated scenes of all time in my opinion. The animation is astounding, the story is original and the characters are well written. This will probably continue to get better with time, and is a sure fire top 50 film for me of all time.

3. Hangover- one of the funniest films I have seen all-time. It probably helps that the film is set in one of my favorite cities, Las Vegas. It is a film you either love or hate, and I love every minute of it. The wolf pack provides much entertainment and laughs for me. Todd Phillips cemented himself of being a very good comedic director with his effort here.

Close to the top
4. Mary and Max- an interesting tale of two interesting characters whom are brought together through their mail.

5. Up in the Air- a great performance piece. Clooney, Farmiga, and Kendrick are all fascinating in this film to me.

Others
6. Everybody's Fine
7. Sherlock Holmes
8. Crazy Heart
9. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
10. Whip It

Best performances- Actor
1. George Clooney- Up in the Air
2. Jeff Bridges- Crazy Heart
3. Robert Downey Jr.- Sherlock Holmes
4. Russell Crowe- State of Play
5. Phillip Seymour Hoffman- Mary and Max

Best Performances- Actress
1. Vera Farmiga- Up in the Air
2. Sandra Bullock- The Blind Side
3. Anna Kendrick- Up in the Air
4. Rachel McAdams- State of Play
5. Maggie Gyllenhaal- Crazy Heart

Random thoughts- the worst film I've seen from this year would probably be The Ugly Truth......Avatar was visually incredible but the story did not strike me enough to make any list here.....Everybody's Fine is one film that I was most shocked by and enjoyed.....Knowing was a good film, but fell shy of making the top ten.....Taking of Pelham 123 was my biggest disappointment of the year.....
Transformers 2 was not even close to the ranks of the first Transformers....while I enjoyed The Blind Side, it seems like it will be a film that won't age well for me.

I thought State of Play was dull and forgettable. I'm surprised anyone would consider it a favorite, but that's the beauty of movies, I guess.

Looking back over 2009, I think it was a rather weak year for movies. Some really good movies, but nothing exceptional. Some of my personal favorites from that year include:

Avatar
Black Dynamite
District 9
House of the Devil
Inglorious Basterds
Julia (technically a 2008 film, but I don't think it was released until 2009 in the U.S.)
The Messenger
Moon
The Road
Sin Nombre
Up
Zombieland

Inglorious Basterds is my favorite from 20109pm. It probably won't come as a surprise to you that I love State Of Play. Really underrated thriller that was in my top ten that year.

2008

1. The favorite- Gran Torino

http://graphics8.nytimes.com/images/2008/12/12/movies/12torino.large1.jpg

Eastwood is still making films, but I may consider this his true farewell film. He plays the badass character of Walt Kowalsksi, a minority in his non-white neighborhood. He teaches his neighbor "Toad" how to "man up" and teaches him how to stay out of trouble. There's a lot of great scenes here, and even though the acting from those outside of Eastwood isn't the greatest, the story is a touching one to me. I like this film the first time I saw it and have seen it countless times since then. A drama film with the perfect blend of action that is a must watch for any true Eastwood fan.

Close to the top

2. Iron Man

The movie for me that truly launched my interest in Superhero films. The film is aj packed with fun adventure and laughs from point A to point B. I remember seeing this in the theater and it was a real treat. Of course Robert Downey Jr. Is perfectly cast as Iron Man. I also think Paltrow was a pretty good casting choice as Pepper Potts. I didn't think Terrance Howard or Jeff Bridges were bad choices for their roles either. Hard to say what I like about this film so much other than it is one of my personal favorites.

3. The Dark Knight

Let me start by saying that Heath Ledger performance as the joker is truly one of the best supporting roles that I have seen in any film. He just carries any scene that he is involved in, and truly is the Joker. The rest of the cast is astounding as well. And Nolan really solidifies his greatness with a film like this one. Had it been another year, this film could have been at the top, and perhaps it is technically a better film. But for now 3 will have to do. On any other day it could be ahead of Iron Man or even Gran Torino.

4. Wall E
A brilliant animated film from Pixar that is truly moving and visually astounding. And while I do have a few Pixar films that I enjoy more that doesn't negate the fact that this film is perhaps one of the better films that Pixar has made. It's been a while since I've seen it too and I do need to correct that.

Others
5. Seven Pounds- a truly underrated Will Smith movie in my opinion
6. Jumper- most people hate it, but I love it. The story is original to me. Oh and it has Rachel Bilson
7. The Lucky Ones- a movie that I feel was really made for me. Rachel, Tim Robbins, and Michael Pena are all favorites of mine.
8. Changeling- Another good one from one of my favorite directors, Eastwood
9. Eagle Eye- thrilling action movie for me.
10. Hancock- on a real movie scale, not a good film. In the cheesy category, a fun popcorn movie.

Best Acting performances by actor
1. Heath Ledger- The Dark Knight
2. Clint Eastwood- Gran Torino
3. Will Smith- Seven Pounds

Best Performance- Actress
1. Rachel McAdams- The Lucky Ones
2. Rosario Dawson- Seven Pounds
3. Angelina Jolie- Changeling

Random thoughts
Were it not for Meet the Spartans, Tropic Thunder would be at the bottom of my list.....an underrated Christmas movie is Four Christmases, though I know it's not really a good film........best overall cast goes to The Dark Knight but The Lucky Ones is grand as well.......I didn't connect with In Bruges or Slumdog Millionaire........for not being as big of. A theater goer as I would like to be I did see eight of these films on the big screen

Dark Knight was my fave from this year. I love Iron Man as well. Revolutionary Road and Burn After Reading are really good. Frost/Nixon is tremendous, its in my top 100, would have been my #1 in a whole lot of years. Torino just didnt do it for me, and I usually like Eastwood films, I thought the script was pretty poor.

I'd go with

1. The Wrestler
2. Iron Man
3. In Bruges
4. The Dark Knight
5. Tropic Thunder

I think it was a good year for comedies. Besides In Bruges and Tropic Thunder, there was Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Step Brothers, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, The House Bunny, and a few more. I really like Gran Torino but it's not quite a favorite.

The Favorite- Gone Baby Gone

http://static.guim.co.uk/Guardian/film/gallery/2008/jun/02/1/gone1a-6958.jpg

A really great director debut for Ben Affleck, who has followed this up with The Town and Argo, two solid movies yet this is easily my favorite of his and it has been in my top 10 for quite some time. I'm a sucker for the Lehane novels being adapted into films obviously. The story is engaging to me. The actors and actresses give it a real Boston feel and the atmosphere of the film is astounding. In particular, I really liked Casey Affleck in the lead role as well as Ed Harris in his role. It's an electric cast overall. I know that many people saw the ending from a mile away, but to me it didn't hurt the film personally. Both the beginning and the ending of the film send strong messages. It will be hard for this to go too far down on my favorites list.

Close to the top
2. The Bucket List- really this movie has even gotten stronger for me as I've seen Nicholsons 70s films. Look, the man is a legend, and to me this film is to. Nicholson what Gran Torino is to Eastwood, a farewell of some sort. And then he's paired with another one of the best actors of our generation in Morgan Freeman. The film makes me laugh, cry, and just have a lot of fun while watching it. Not a film for everyone, but definitely a film for me.

3. No Country for Old Men- an electric thriller with one of the greatest villain performances of all time from Javier Bardem. Really makes me want to watch this film again soon. The Coen brothers haven't disappointed me yet, though I'm still in the early stages of their filmography. The Coens are just plain and simply great scene makers, there are about 10 scenes from this film alone that are just astounding to me, my favorite being the first one with the quarter.

http://nonrhotic.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/no-country-for-old-men.jpg

4. Ratatouille- A slight bit behind Finding Nemo, Wall E, and Up (Up has since risen on my favorites) but still an OUTSTANDING film. An animated film that still gives us a feel of the beautiful city of Paris. The story is heartfelt, fun, and engaging.

5. American Gangster- Denzel and Crowe both near their best. Not the greatest performance from either but together they work oh so well. There were many candidates for the 5 spot but I put this here because I am a huge Denzel guy.

Other Contenders
6. Reign Over Me
7. Shooter
8. Disturbia
9. Juno
10. Transformers

Best Acting Performances by an Actor
1. Javier Bardem- No Country for Old Men
2. Casey Affleck- Gone Baby Gone
3. Adam Sandler- Reign Over Me
4. Denzel Washington- American Gangster
5. Jack Nicholson- The Bucket List

Best Actress performances
1. Ellen Page- Juno
2. Drew Barrymore- Lucky You
3. Naomi Watts- Eastern Promises

Random Thoughts- I wasn't able to fill out a full five for actresses, because, frankly not enough have wowed me from what I've seen.....I liked Naomi Watts performance in Eastern Promises, but I still disliked the film altogether.......I Am legend was a fun movie from this year, but not enough to crack the top ten.....of the comedies outside the Bucket List, I liked Knocked Up the most.....the Hitcher remake was pretty solid, I would like to rewatch that again though.....I saw Smoking Aces in the theater and it wasn't very good....We Own the Night could be my biggest disappointment of the year though.

No Country for Old Men
There Will Be Blood
Juno
Timecrimes
Inside
Before the Devil Knows You're Dead
The Orphanage

4 Months, 3 Weeks, and 2 Days
Eastern Promises

2006- an absolute stacked year at the front end of it

The Favorite- Inside Man
http://www.firstshowing.net/img/inside-man-masks-hdrimg.jpg
Being the big Denzel a Washington fan I am, this is one of the greatest Films that I think he has been a part of. The movie is truly thrilling. The cat and mouse game played between Denzel Washington and Clive Owen provides constant "edge of your seat" entertainment. The supporting roles from Foster and Plummer are truly brilliant as well. It's a well executed film from Spike Lee, an is suspenseful throughout.

Close to the top
2. Deja Vu

Denzel, again. From a technical standpoint it isn't a great movie but for the fun and entertainment value it gets a huge boost from me. I've always enjoyed what Tony Scott brings to the table, although there aren't many big fans I must say that I am. The cinematography, sound, and overall plot of the film is what makes this one of my favorites.

3. V for Vendetta

Remember remember the 5th of November. This is one of my favorite political films, as well as one of my favorites from within the comic book genre. I thought Portman was great in particular, and of course Hugo Weaving as V was great as well.

4. The Departed

I believe that this is my favorite Scorsese film, and I don't relate to people who believe that he was just given this oscar for a lifetime achievement award. The film is brilliant. It's well directed and well thought out. The acting in the film is top notch, particularly Di Caprio. Oh and the ending to the film is one of cinemas best.

5. The Prestige
http://www.filmlinc.com/assets/uploads/films/ThePrestige1.jpg
Probably my favorite Nolan here. I love the films originality. The direction and the script was brilliant. The tricks and twists and turns of the film were well thought out and they really don't get old to me. The acting is top notch from all, but particularly with Bale and Jackman going back and forth in a battle for magician supremacy. Totally a different film than we are used to seeing, but yet one that works oh so well.
You arguably can't go wrong with any of these first five. On any given day they could be my number one for 2006. Just depends upon the mood I'm in.

Letter From Iwo Jima, Apocalypto, and The Departed were my three favorite of the year. A Scanner Darkly and Alpha Dog are two in my top ten that I think are very under rated. Inside Man I thought was fine but I didnt love it like many do.

Whitaker was by far my favorite performance of the year and one of my favorites ever.

The Favorite- Wedding Crashers
http://highdefdiscnews.com/screenshots/wedding_crashers_2.png
Yup, everyone hates it I know, but it is my favorite comedy of all time. The combo of Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn gives me countless laughs and many memorable quotes to use at priceless times in my life. The supporting cast is equally funny, particularly the small part near the end of the film with Will Ferrell and his meatloaf joke. Truly a funny film from the beginning to the end for me. Oh, and I forgot to mention the fact that it has Rachel, which just makes it, well, better.

Another criminally hated film on here but everything in it works for me. I understand that it may be a bit cliche but it makes me think about how truly cruel the world can be to one another. I love the all star cast and their are so many who play their roles greatly. I'm a happy camper it was recognized by the academy.

3. Cinderella Man
A feel good movie with a great performance from one of my favorite actors, Russell Crowe. I also like the performances of Paul Giamatti and Renee Zellweger. Ron Howard when given the right opportunity is able to deliver. He delivers here.

4. Red Eye
I find myself enjoying this film more and more everytime. I like the character relationship between Rachel McAdams and Cillian Murphy. The story is interesting to me and I love that the majority portion of the film takes place in one location. Not a masterpiece but one of my favorite films to watch.

I didn't hate Wedding Crashers but it was dwarfed by one of my favorite comedies of all time, 40 Year Old Virgin, which also came out in 2005. Not my favorite year but there is some good stuff. My #1 is Munich, which fantastic and way under rated. Also love Cinderella Man and Batman Begins. Brick is original and entertaining.

2004
1. The Favorite- Man on Fire
http://images7.alphacoders.com/342/342500.jpg
This held the top spot in my all time list until I decided to swap Shawshank Redemption with it, so it is no surprise to see it atop the chart of 2004 here. This is undoubtedly my favorite performance from my favorite actor of all time, Denzel Washington. Tony Scott and Washington are always a great combo together, and this is the best combination that the two of them have produced. One of my favorite endings to a film all time as well.

2. Million Dollar Baby

Also in my top ten, this is my favorite film directed by Clint Eastwood. The directing and the acting in this film is just something that cannot be matched for me. Glad to see that the academy actually does get it right every once in a while. Swank was spectacular and obviously Eastwood and Freeman as well.

3. Spider-Man 2
http://cdn.hitfix.com/photos/2019219/Spider-Man-2.jpg
My favorite of the Spider-Man trilogy and one of my favorite comic based films of all time, just a smidgen below a few others. The story in this film is easily the best of the three. I actually have the itch to watch this one again very soon.

4. Collateral
Michael Mann just churns out good films, and I believe this may actually be my favorite of his. Jamie Foxx is great here and Tom Cruise shows us that when given the right role he can be great. Kind of surprised this isn't more well liked around here.

Sideways is by far my favorite for that year. Also really like Million Dollar Baby, Spidey 2, Dawn of the Dead, Hidalgo, The Incredibles and Harold & Kumar go to White Castle. I thought National Treasure and Collateral were decent. Man on Fire is probably one of my most disappointing movies. I certainly don't hate it, and I can see the appeal, but I just wanted to love it, and I didn't.

I own Man on Fire and Million Dollar Baby on DVD, so obviously I like both movies somewhat. Spider-Man 2 is one of my favorite superhero films. I also really like Collateral.

Looking back at my own favorites from 2004, Before Sunset, Kill Bill Vol. II, and Shaun of the Dead would be at the top of the list.

You might want to watch more films from each of these years before you post your favorites, though, since I always feel like your top ten is drawn from a pool of only 20-30 movies from each year. I could be wrong about that, but I just don't see any other explanation for Elisha Cuthbert being one of the top five performances you witnessed from 2004.

1. Mystic River
My favorite Eastwood film has to come in first place for this year that is very well stacked at the top. The translation of Lehane's absolute brilliant story to the big screen was brilliantly executed by Mr. Eastwood. Sean Penn gives a performance for the ages, and all the supporting acting is done with very little flaw. Tim Robbins especially had a really exceptional performance. This is a movie that will continue to be a favorite of mine and I would continue to say it doesn't get the appreciation that it truly deserves.

2. Lost in Translation
Sophia Coppola can officially say she has made a masterpiece, because that's what I believe this one to be. The storyline and the cinematography are the biggest reason why I love this movie, and the performances from Bill Murray and Scarlett Johannson are excellent. The two of them have great chemistry with this film.

3. 21 Grams
Any other year a film like this would be my favorite. It is truly great and is one of the only films to have what I consider to be 3 actors greatest performances (Watts, Del Toro, and Penn). In addition, Naomi Watts performance is simply the best I have seen from any actress to this date. I liked how the non linear storyline worked so well for this movie.

4. Finding Nemo
This movie is in my top 50, so clearly this is a year that is stacked at the top. Truly a fun movie that can be great for both adults and children. I must admit that the thing that draws me in the most is the beautiful animation. Andrew Stanton is a great animated director as well. Pixar officially started to win my over with this one, as it is easily my favorite of all the Pixar films.

Random Thoughts
Daredevil is nowhere near as bad as everyone makes it out to be in my opinion. Not bad for what it's worth.....most overrated film I've seen from this year is Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter.....lots of bad films at the bottom of this year- I'd say the worst is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

2003 was a great movie year for me. My favorite is Wonderland, which I'm apparently it's biggest fan because I've never heard anyone else mention it. Mystic River and Old School are also huge favorites of mine with The Cooler and Bad Santa rounding out my top 5. There's several other excellent movies from that year.

Captain Spaulding

I know I'm in the minority, but I don't think Lost in Translation is a good movie. Obviously a lot of people enjoy it and get something out of it, but I found it dull and forgettable.

21 Grams is a great movie, though. I love how it's structured together. Every scene feels like a random puzzle piece, but as the film plays out you begin to see the overall picture taking shape. Watts, Del Toro and Penn are all excellent in it. I've only see the movie once, but it's stuck with me. So has Mystic River, which is also a great movie.

1. Antwone Fisher- the story of a man in the navy who goes on a journey to find himself, his past, and his family. This isn't a film everyone will enjoy, but it an emotionally packed film that has some gut wrenching scenes. However, it is one of the more inspirational films I have ever seen as well. Derek Luke is absolutely fantastic in the lead role, and Denzel was very successful as both a director and an actor in this one. Truly great. The gif is one of my favorite scenes of all time.

2. Signs- I have seen this movie countless times and it was very freaky in the movie theater. It may have lost it's scariness but it is still up there and is definitely an enjoyable flick. One of the first true scares I saw in the theater and the film has stuck with my since.

3. The Ring
love Naomi Watts in the lead role in this movie, I remember seeing this one in the theater and it was an instant favorite film for me. Ringu was great but this remake of it is even better in my honest opinion. This along with Signs are two of my favorite horror films of all time.

Best of the rest
4. Spiderman
5. Lord of the Rings: Two Towers
6. The Hours

Best Actor Performances
1. Derek Luke- Antwone Fisher
2. Joaquin Phoenix- Signs
3. Mel Gibson- Signs
4. Tobey McGuire- Spiderman
5. Denzel Washington- John Q

Best Actress
1. Naomi Watts- The Ring
2. Meryl Streep- The Hours
3. Nicole Kidman- The Hours

Miscellaneous Notes-
I love the top three, but after that, it's quite a disappointing year with what I've seen.
The worst I've seen is Sympathy for Mr. vengeance, but Slackers and Showtime aren't behind. I didn't react kindly to Punch Drunk Love either, a movie beloved on these forums. My number seven film would probably be Van Wilder or Super Troopers.
