Hello, Everyone. I just thought that I would go ahead introduce myself.
While I always loved watching movies, my obsession with film really started when I first watched The Fellowship of the Ring. I was enamored by the absolute, grandiose and epic scale of it, something which I think is only equaled by Lang's Metropolis. This obsession propelled me to graduate from Illinois State University with a minor in Cinema Studies (to compliment my English Education major and my other minor in Writing).
Recently, at my girlfriend's suggestion, I started a blog where I review the movies that she and I random choose to watch on Netflix: we put all of the titles that we want to see in a bucket (currently 226) and pull one out at random when we're in the mood to watch something new. With four reviews and ten movies under our belt, it's going well (although I really do need to whittle down my mounting backlog of blog entries).
I general, I have an extremely broad taste in movies. My two favorite decades are the 2000s and 1920s. I have a particular love of horror and silent films and a general disinterest in most comedies. The directors who I have most consistently enjoyed include Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Christopher Nolan and Clint Eastwood.
So hello. It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun to post here. :D
