View Full Version : The baddest super hero of them all, and why?
http://goodcomics.comicbookresources.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/thorwalt2.jpg
I say Thor.
Ysee Thor has roughly 95% of Hulks strength, has fought for centuries, and can kill without hesitation. Mjolnir (his hammer) can control the weather, open dimensional portals, hit with a force much stronger than a raging Hulk, gives flight, and can eject the "Unfetered Might" which can floor a celestial (Thor #300) though Thor rarely uses that.
10-15 years ago WIZARD magazine did an excellent article listing the top ten superheroes in all comics. Superman came in at #3, Thor #2, and Silver Surfer #1. Others mentioned were Dr Strange, Professor X, Flash, Spawn, Hulk, Wonder Woman, and........Firestorm. Yeah I doubt anyone remembers him. He drifted off in the early 90's.

Professor X is fairly damn powerful. So powerful that they had to come up with ways take him out the game in all the X Men movies. Poisoned Cerebro in 1, Mind Controlled in 2 and killed in 3.
In other words so powerful he has to be taken out to give everyone else a fair shot.

Yeah, I think Thor might be stronger than the Hulk. Does Thor have infinite stamina, because I imagine it would take a long time for Hulk to start slowing down, if it's even possible.
As for Professor X, just buy Magneto's helmet off of E-Bay. Problem solved. :D
I'd say World War Hulk is one of the baddest of them all. The guy is an absolute beast.

Wow, comic books really held nothing back, did they? I regret not having an interest in them in my childhood, but now I definitely look for them wherever.

Obvious answer, Superman. Kicking ass with brawn and brains since 1938.
I think my fave has to be Batman though... although, as for baddest? Has to be Rorschach.
Unbending in his missions, completely uncompromising to get to his goals.
Unlike say, Hulk, Rorschach knows right from wrong and is in control of his violent actions which to me makes him more dangerous.
Having Superman against you, or Batman, or even Hulk I could deal with.
I'd rather have Rorschach on my side than against me. I'd crap my pants if I knew he was real and was after me.

World War Hulk would be a good pick. Normal Hulk ranked #10 in Wizards list, but normal Hulk even got thumped by WWHulk in a two isue miniseries when he went forward in time. WWHulk had the strength, Banners intellect, and the rage but he was focused.
Other than the book smarts, Thor would have him still beat in all areas. WWHulk would have to assassinate Thor as I dont think he would beat Thor in a life or death struggle, and assassinate him he would.

Y'all need to see Hulk Vs. (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1325753/). Hulk is bad ass. Planet Hulk (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1483025/) is pretty bad ass too. That wizards list is not reputable. My list is every bit as good. Silver Surfer number1? C'mon. He's technically not even a good guy.

Good point about Rorschach, the one guy you wouldn't want on your case. All the others have rules, like they wouldn't really hurt you bt not Rorschach.

Rorschach is terrifying. He's like Batman without rules and money. Even if we were on the same side, I would still try to avoid him.
I would also add Wolverine to this. This guy is not afraid of anything (except maybe his painful memories). With his regenerative abilities, he's gone through both World Wars, atomic bomb radiation, and all other sorts of Hell. With his claws and adamantium skeleton, there's not room for a PG rating. I mean, the guy is willing to go head to head with the Hulk.

Oh contraire mon frair but that Wizard list is highly reputable. They had around 10 well educated in all things nerdy college graduates that would argue their point till blood spilled from their eyes. They even knew who #11 was (Iron Man), and stood by that Iron Man could whoop anyone not in the top ten.

Yeah I'll go with thor, pound for pound with the Hulk, Thor's stronger, got a hot girlfriend and can practically fly. He's stronger than loki who seemed fine after Hulk used him as a fly squat in the Avengers.
Don't know if you can count Blade as a super hero but He's got style, ruthless and swears.

By hotter girlfriend, do you mean Natalie Portman, or in the comic books?
I'll throw the Man of Steel in here, I think he's earned a spot. Superman can fly, has incredible strength, x-ray and laser beam eyes, can breathe in space, and can take a punch. Also, some storylines have shown that he's a complete badass, but through a level of dick that cemented Batman as the fan favourite DC hero.
Here's Superman holding Batman like a little girl.

The Punisher
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Punisher
The Punisher is a vigilante who employs murder, kidnapping, extortion, coercion, threats of violence, and torture in his war on crime. Driven by the deaths of his wife and two children, who were killed by the mob during a shootout in New York City's Central Park, the Punisher wages a one-man war on the mob and all criminals in general by using all manner of conventional war weaponry.[2] His family's killers were the first to be slain.[3] A war veteran of the U.S. military, Frank Castle is a master of martial arts, stealth tactics, guerrilla warfare, and a wide variety of weapons.

Always enjoyed Frank Millers adaptation of the Punisher. He would have him beating up on Spider-Man and Daredevil straight up. He wouldnt try and hurt them too bad and went on his way. Something extra cool about a normal man able to do that with supers and get away with it.

It seems like Spider-Man and Daredevil are good friends in the comics. Or at least they cross paths a number of times.
