The Emmy Awards are becoming more and more predictable as the years progress...it seems like the same actors and the same shows keep winning year after year after year, but for me, there were two VERY pleasant surprises that made the whole evening worth it. First, I was thrilled to see Carrie Preston win Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series for THE GOOD WIFE...Preston's characters is one of the most unique and deliciously entertaining characters on prime time and I was very pleased to see the Academy acknowledge that. And even more pleasing was that after fifty years in show business, TV icon Bob Newhart FINALLY won his first Emmy for his guest shot on THE BIG BANG THEORY...I constantly have to remind myself that Newhart has never won an Emmy before and I'm thrilled that this long overdue recognition from the Academy finally came to pass.
