Stalag 17 is worth the watch anyway, in fact most Billy Wilder movies are. I suppose I should see WH now.

I feel bad voting against The Lady Vanishes again, because it really is good. The recent tv version just seemed to highlight how good the 1938 version is. But Gegen die Wand (Head-On) is one of my very favourite films.

Stalag 17 is a film that surprised me. When it started I thought it would be tedious and cliched all the way through, but it won me over. I still prefer Werckmeister Harmonies, a strange and fascinating film.
