Site loading times

So, site load times lately have been, simply put, unacceptable. I'm working hard to improve them, even going so far as to temporarily shuttering another site I have on this server that needs to be retooled, anyway, and is probably being bombarded by bots. I did this this morning, and I think I've noticed an improvement already, but it can be hard to say. Let me know if you guys notice an improvement.

If the issues persist, I'll keep scaling things down, as much as is necessary. The timing's actually somewhat fortunate, as we're looking at a handful of changes this year designed to make the site faster and more accessible.

Definitely quicker recently.

The main problem for me is waiting for the Reputation page to load when I click on the Notifications at the top of the page... but it was ok today.

Sometimes it took ages, to the point it was quicker to just go into my Profile and bring it up that way.

Yeah, the Reputation page is probably particularly intensive. I'll look into reworking it to be more efficient today.

Is migrating to a faster and better server an option? If so, don't hesitate to solicit donations to help the costs. I'm in for twenty.

That's very generous; thank you. It might be an option, yes, especially with some of the other things I'm planning. The fact that it's an ongoing cost complicates thing a little bit, but I'll definitely keep that in mind. We've gone almost 13 years without asking users for any help, though, so it'd be nice to avoid if at all possible. But it's nice of you to offer. :)

Where's that negative rep button when you need it. Maybe those who donate have the option to give out negative rep reinstated? Now there's an idea! And twenty bucks is nothing compared to the amount of time I've spent here.

Everything works fine for me,maybe the reputation page takes time but only a few seconds more.However,I noticed that in the mornings this forum doesn't work but I haven't been on that time for a while so I can't tell now.

Okay, I, uh...didn't actually ask anyone. And I wasn't planning on shaming anyone who didn't or couldn't, either. :) Just answering Harry's question: yes, it's an option. And I appreciate him volunteering and it's nice to know that that might be an option to defray costs, if it comes to that.
