I am a big fan of the 2011 film and have recently started watching the TV series on You Tube. I must say that it's really excellent, as good as or better than the movie. It's a 7 part TV series at 40 minutes per episode so it takes it's time much more than the film. Alec Guinness is fantastic as Smiley, probably better than Gary Oldman.

For any fans of the movie I cannot recommend this series strongly enough.

OK, I've not seen the film, but I'll tell you right now, it's better than the film.

It's better than the film, but not by as much as you might expect.

I read all the Le Carre novels in which Smiley features, and I agree that the BBC series is superior to the film - although I did enjoy the film too.

Once you get done with Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, there's still the whole Smiley's People series.

That's one reason the series is better - many more hours of quality viewing pleasure :D

Yeah I was aware of Smiley's people and just finished it. Amazing stuff, you can't really call it TV because it's better than just about every movie out there. Cannot recommend this series enough.
