View Full Version : Do you ever use MoFo on your phone or tablet?

Last year I threw together a passable mobile style, and I'm working now on a redesign of sorts that's going to involve different styles for different screen sizes; mainly, tablets and smartphones.

To that end, it'd be useful to know how most MoFos use the site. So please vote! :)

My phone is very stupid, so it's laptop for this chick.

PC only for me. Don't use the internet on my mobile phone and don't have a tablet.

My phone is relatively old... it does work on MoFo though but I rarely use it for internet.

I often check MoFo regularly while at work, on my phone. I usually don't post on my phone though as it can be a hassle sometimes.

I pretty much only use my phone. My computer is kaput and I haven't got around to buying a new one. I have acess to a laptop when I need it, but I can do most everything I need to on my phone.

How about an option for 'The only tablets I have come in bottles and my phone has an LCD display'? :D

Desktop by default for me. :D

Wanna bump this so we get some more votes in. So far it seems very heavily towards desktop, as expected, but with a modest contingent that likes to use it on the phone sometimes.

More info is always better. :) But you guys who use it on other platforms can definitely expect a better experience later this year.

why would anyone use a movie forum website on their phones or tablets? are your lives that empty?

I use it mostly on my phone, but via Tapatalk, the app for forums. I sometimes use it from my laptop though. Anyway, a good mobile interface is always welcome, especially for those who are travelling, not using Tapatalk, writing on the road and so on.

Mostly on PC, the phone is just too damn small

I find it very useful to browse MoFo on my phone, when I'm out or waiting for something or just away from the laptop. It's simple and comfortable.

I'll probably start using it on my phone tbh

If I had a tablet I'd probably use it for all Internet stuff, and it's a hassle posting on forums on a mobile phone. I've done it many times before.

I don't use my phone for MoFo at all.

That leads to a natural follow-up for anyone who doesn't: would you, if there were a version of the site tailored for it?

Bump! Would love to know if any of you would be more likely to use the site on your phone or tablet if it were made for it. I ask because, well, I'm working on both right now, and will be looking for a few good beta testers in the coming months, most likely.

It's been my experience that a big part of the reason people don't visit sites on mobile devices is because so few sites are really designed to work well on them. But when they are, they're a real pleasure to use.

Cool. What kind? I'm definitely interested in any non-iPad tablet owners.

ipad 2, its a bit small when your trying to click on a specific section, thank jesus I don't have chubby fingers.:)

Basically got it instead of a laptop so I can lie in bed and watch TV and use tablet to surf tinternet.

Ah, same here.

Yeah, the main thing in designing mobile sites is to make everything easy to click. The iPad version will be much, much easier to use than the site is on tablets now.

Will be cool to see what you come up with. Look forward to it.

I access this site both from my tablet and laptop. Time is about the same per device.

Can I ask which tablet you use?

Can I ask which tablet you use?

iPad 2. This site works perfectly fine on it, as well.

Not since I accidentally threw my cellphone from the fifth floor.

So...uh...you did before?

Except all the people you try to impress by constantly throwing in little non-sequiturs about how different and independent you are, that is.

I prefer to view Mofo on my laptop but when I am at work I will use my Galaxy S4. I usually just view the desktop version because there is no search function available when using Mobile Style.(Or I just have not found it) What enhancements does having tapatalk provide when viewing Mofo Mobile Style?

Yoda

I don't use TapaTalk so I'm not positive; I think it just formats most basic forum functionality as if it were an iPhone app, more or less. I know ash_is_the_gal uses it so maybe she can shed some more light on it.

If you're on the fence, though, I wouldn't spring for it, since we're definitely going to have a much better mobile site before long. I'm very excited about it. :)

I'm looking forward to it. Smart phones are taking over the world, glad to see you are working on a better mobile version. :yup:

Yoda

Yeah, it's long overdue. Even the slapped-together version we have now was only added earlier this year, I think. It's well past time.

I think you guys are really gonna dig it. As is always the case I'm fretting over the desktop version being good enough, and somewhat about the iPad version, but I really love how the phone version's coming along.
