I saw this the other night. I thought it was ultra cool. How do you folks feel about the idea that God could be seeking retribution on earth for foul deeds done?
I thought it was very powerful on film... not to mention the acting which was wonderful.

Don't know anything about it, but if it is about the old testement god coming back and beating us down in modern times, I think that would be awesome.
Interesting thread. If we're talkin' 'bout the flick, primarily, this may be handy:

On the other hand, if this is more about God in general, perhaps I should move it to the Intermission forum? Whatcha think? Either way, it should make for an interesting discussion. :yup:

I really have nothing to say here...I've just never used spoilers before. Oh yeah, FG it's a lot like that... God sends out a serial killer...with an AXE to punish the wicked.

I don't know about you, but I want no part of any god that sets lunatics with axes free to kill a lot of people.
I think that the idea is, if there is a God, then you really have no choice.

Wow. Sort of like those elections in Iraq!:D
It is always going to be a question unless God himself does come down, Im a very spiritually guided person and i feel if god if he was so angry at the sin's we were committing he himself could put an end to it, i used to find myself thinking of these questions at night all the time and than i realised that until/unless it hapens we will never know. Im just preparing myself incase the time does come.

If God were sending them down to kill despicable criminals, I don't think I'd mind terribly. No different than the death penalty in that respect, really.

But the death penalty is a really despicable thing, too! Does "Thou Shalt Not Kill" ring a bell? It's the Ten Commandments, not "The Ten Suggestions!" I find the death penalty repugnant on so many levels, I can't get behind it.

The Hebrew translation is actually "murder" not "kill." Which makes sense, because otherwise it would forbid killing in war, and also in self-defense...which is obviously ridiculous.
