no actually its just a big red spider that i ride on the back of. sometimes my friends climb on with me but often they dont like the itchyness of sammy's (thats what i named him) skin. but he is a very friendly red spider and even though he is getting on now (must have down millions of billions of miles now) he is still good...he gets me where i need to go. the only problems i have had in the past is feeding him. i have to keep ants nests and trap flys and moths by the gallon. he isnt messy either...once i got him trained on where to make his webs and where not to he became a pretty good thing to have around, and you dont have to worry about intruders anymore...even though i tell him it is bad to eat ppl its always handy to let him eat the window washer after they have cleaned the windows. lovely spider really.

Car #1- Plymouth Duster (1985) then
Car #2-Jeep Cherokee (1989) then
Car #3-Chevy Blazer (1996)

My first set of wheels came into my life just six months after i turned 16, which was in 1997. I drove that for about 3 years, and then in the fall of 2000, i wanted a 4 Wheel Drive vehicle because i did a lot driving and in PA it is sometimes hard to drive around w/o that luxury. So, I sold my duster and i got the Jeep, then 2 years later the damn cam shaft broke, and i was like F-that, and I traded it in (and pretty much got all my money back) and got the Blazer which I love!! My next investment is a Chevy Avalanche, that is why i am going to school to become an accountant. ;)

Right now we have a Jeep Cherokee, white. The fan belt just broke yesterday but my hubby is very handy with the tools and he fixed it! Now instead of a jet engine, it sounds like a lawn mower. :)
We also have a Dodge truck. A big blue one. We're selling it and buying my father-in-law's Chevy Tahoe. It's red and nice. My father-in-law so' knows how to take care of his cars. We don't have to pay taxes on it either because it's a transaction between family...isn't that swell?

I choose not to drive for a few reasons. One, pollution. Two, my family has a curse for getting into car accidents. Every person in my family has been in at least 5 serious car accidents in their life. It is usually not their fault. (except for my dad who passes out behind the wheel and drinks and drives) So I guess you can say I have a fear of driving. I do like riding in cars though, going on road trips and what-not. But I have to take gravol or I get sick. I like looking at old cars....

SamsoniteDelilah

I love driving, but I would LOVE to not have to. Public transportation in LA is the suck. I'd love to move to a part of town where I could walk to work and grocery stores, though.

gummo
12-12-04, 12:12 AM
I am lucky to live where the grocery store is less than a 10 minute walk from me, downtown is a 15 minute walk. You can pretty well go anywhere in my city for $5-$10 (Can.) cab fare. The busses are not too crowded, however they aren't frequent. Every half hour for busy routes and every hour for not so busy routes and there are only two bus routes on Sundays. To get to my college, it takes 40 minutes by bus which sucks, but it goes by fast listening to music or playing gameboy advance or reading. This is life in a small city, population 130 000.

Current vehicular type thing is a 2000 VW Jetta. I miss my Buick (I didn't have to worry as much about fixing things on it).

Family man? The Zafira's a cracking motor. ;)

I can't believe I was driving the Rangie when I last posted in this thread and that the Porker was still running (the wiring loom went on it which meant a 4 grand bill so I sold the old girl on from the back of a truck). That's life, I guess. :)

Lemme see, since the Range Rover my regular motors have been a Land Rover Discovery and then a 1994 Ford Fiesta (for a few months when I quit the motor trade and sold all my stock).

I've had a Citroen C4 Coupé for the last 13 months. It does the job, I suppose, looks lovely, drives well, goes like a bomb when you wind 'er up and gives me 36 mpg (compared to the Rangie's 12, for instance). Next week it goes in for it's 3rd safety recall in the 9,000 miles I've driven in it, but that's the downside for little red sports cars. ;)

The Mondy has always been a solid motor (though I wrapped a silver ST saloon round a tree once...we fixed it up but the thing pulled to the left worse than Arthur Scargill) and I can't fault the new Vectra as a driving machine, despite what Clarkson says.

Not driven the new 3 Series and I'm not really a fan of the way it looks. The new BMW styling in general does nothing for me (and BMW drivers never have) but the 5 is a rather fine machine...
