;)This is a hard one, is Tremors, a horror, a comedy or a sci-fi movie? Who really knows? but it is a great movie nonetheless. It is one of those movies that are always on TV, and during the 90's it seemed to be on all the time, which is probably how most people know what it is.

This is B-movie horror at its best, and it features Kevin Bacon (best known for Footloose and more recently X-Men: First Class), Fred Ward (Most recently known for being Kyle's dad in Road Trip) and Victor Wong (Egg Chen from Big Trouble in Little China). Strangely enough, none of these are know for this movie. One actor who is though, and puts in a fine performance is Michael Gross as Burt Gummer.

This movie is about some mutated worms who attack a small town called Perfection in Nevada. Val and Earl are two handymen working in the community. They decide to leave for the nearest town but come across some dead bodies, and soon discover the animals behind the attacks, These worms have three snakes for tongues, which pop out and kill the pray. Val and Earl rescue Rhonda, who is monitoring the tremors in the area. They discover these worms can here the vibrations in the ground for great distances and use this as a way to hunt their pray. This leads to a great scene where all three have to pole vault between boulders to escape the creatures.

Back at the strore Walter names these creatures Graboids, before he is killed in hilarious fashion. The towns people attempt to escape on a bulldozer dragging a metal trailer and use Burts home made bombs to kill the 'Graboids'. After the last creature spits the bomb out, and it goes back to the bull dozer everyone has to flee, Val manages to kill the last creature by luring it to the edge of a cliff where it falls to its death.

This movie has some great lines and action pieces, and Michael Gross plays an excellent part as the survivalist, with a strange obsession with guns, and overall is very memorable. Val and Earl also play great parts in the movie, but are slightly overshadowed by Gross.

The Victor Wong death is very unrealistic but normally has me bent over laughing, that is pretty much how all of the effects go in this one, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The Pole Vaulting scene is also another one that sticks out in the mind long after the movie is over.

This movie is great, it is one that is unintentially funny, and an easy watch. I think everyone needs to watch this movie at least once. It is easy viewing that doesn't take itself seriously. Watch this movie and enjoy.
