Well back when i joined here I jotted down a quick list of a 100 or so movies that I enjoy. The list wernt the best movies I've ever seen, but I wanted to give you guys an idea of the kind of things i like. Now that I've had alot more free time, and I've spent abit more time on these forums, I've came up with a list ime really happy with. I've actualy came up with the countdown like alot of you guys have done. I've already changed a few places here and there since the weekend, but I think it's complete now.

Hope you all enjoy.

So far so good. I like Gladiator a lot less than I used to, but it's still an enjoyable film. Rep for Bronson, though. I like how you're not just listing films with pics like so many on here have done for the past year, but I would like a bit more insight as to why you like so and so.

Ime a big Tom Hardy fan, so Bronson is a real treat. The movie showcases just how good of an actor he really is.

I knew HK would get excited about Road House :D. Some really cool pics here, man. You seem to be a fan of Neil Marshall. I WAS a fan of those first two films, but he hasn't lived up to quality of those horrors since.

Casino Royale is a very good Bond film, obviously. I had it around the same spot in my top 100 (although I wouldn't include it now), but I think GoldenEye may be my favourite Bond film.

How many times have you seen Warrior, Master?

I've seen Warrior three times. Have you seen it?.

Warrior is a great film, incredibly acted and emotional, more than worthy of a spot here.

Casino Royale is a solid, edgy reboot to the Bond franchise, so got to give it respect for that. My favourite Bond is probably License To Kill, though I'm not much of a fan of the Bond stuff.

I really liked Training Day because of Denzel Washington's performance. That was his best performance IMO, it was so great to see him play a character like that. Ethan Hawke was good too. The story itself isn't great, but it's performances more than make up for that.

Interesting list so far Masterman. Certainly one of the most 'blokey' lists so far.

12 year old Shaun lives with his widowed mother in a small town in Britain. His father, an army officer, was one of the Falkland casualties. A loner, he is befriended by some older skinhead youth, who shave off his hair, date an older young woman, and subsequently introduce him to ex-convict Combo. Shaun unwittingly volunteers to be part of Combo's gang, and is taken to a meeting hosted by Britain's right-winged National Front, which openly advocates ethnic cleansing; re-defines Racism as Reality; and Nazism as Nationalism. Combo then takes his followers on a spree of sword and knife-wielding terror, looting a corner store run by Sandhu, all eventually get stoned and violence ensues.

A film about two homicide detectives' desperate hunt for a serial killer who justifies his crimes as absolution for the world's ignorance of the Seven Deadly Sins. The movie takes us from the tortured remains of one victim to the next as the sociopathic "John Doe" sermonizes to Detectives Sommerset and Mills -- one sin at a time. The sin of Gluttony comes first and the murderer's terrible capacity is graphically demonstrated in the dark and subdued tones characteristic of film noir. The seasoned and cultured Sommerset researches the Seven Deadly Sins in an effort to understand the killer's modus operandi while green Detective Mills scoffs at his efforts to get inside the mind of a killer...

Navy SEAL Lieutenant A.K. Waters and his elite squadron of tactical specialists are forced to choose between their duty and their humanity, between following orders by ignoring the conflict that surrounds them, or finding the courage to follow their conscience and protect a group of innocent refugees. When the democratic government of Nigeria collapses and the country is taken over by a ruthless military dictator, Waters, a fiercely loyal and hardened veteran is dispatched on a routine mission to retrieve a Doctors Without Borders physician, Dr. Lena Kendricks. Dr. Kendricks, an American citizen by marriage, is tending to the victims of the ongoing civil war at a Catholic mission in a remote village. When Waters arrives, however, Dr. Kendricks refuses to leave unless he promises to help deliver the villagers to political asylum at the nearby border. If they are left behind, they will be at the mercy of the enormous rebel army. Waters is under strict orders from his commanding officer Captain Bill Rhodes to remain disengaged from the conflict. But as he and his men witness the brutality of the rebels first-hand, they are won over to Dr. Kendricks' cause and place their lives at risk by agreeing to escort the villagers on a perilous trek through the dense jungle. As they move through the countryside on foot, Waters' team, experts at evasion and concealment, are inexplicably and ferociously pursued by an army of rebels. They are confounded until they discover that, among the refugees, is the sole survivor of the country's previous ruling family, whom the rebels have been ordered to eliminate at all costs. Waters and his small band of soldiers must weigh the life of one man against their own and the refugees they feel obliged to protect.

300 tells the story of the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 B.C. Persians under the rule of King Xerxes have already taken over some of the Hellenic city-states, and now threaten Sparta and Athens. King Leonidas of Sparta is left with two options: he will either have to sacrifice himself for the well-being of Sparta or watch it burn to the ground. Choosing the former, Leonidas forms an army of 300 Spartan warriors to block the narrow passage of Thermopylae where Xerxes intends to reach Hellas. The 300 are accompanied by about 700 Thespians who protect the flanks of the passage, and combined, the forces manage to slay tens of thousands of Persians and prevent their entry into Hellas for several days. However, Ephialtes, a reject of the Spartan Army gets his revenge by showing Xerxes a secret goat passage up the flanks of the passage. The story depicts the epic last stand of the finest Spartan soldiers who are aware of their fate, but motivated by "honor and glory", see the battle as their duty to protect the rest of Greece for as long as possible.

Teddy's shrewd investigating skills soon provide a promising lead, but the hospital refuses him access to records he suspects would break the case wide open. He is a thief for hire but Japanese businessman Mr. Saito has a somewhat different proposition for him. He wants Cobb to enter the mind of Robert Fischer Jr., who is about to inherit his father's massive business empire, to plant a simple notion: to break-up his father's conglomerate and sell it off. In return, Saito will make it possible for Cobb to freely return to the US where he is currently wanted by the police. Cobb accepts and assembles his team with a plan to plant the idea deep in Fisher's mind by generating a series of dreams within dreams so that he eventually thinks he came up with the idea himself. As the intended deception grows ever more complex, Cobb has to deal with his own emotions and feelings of guilt, which are projecting themselves into the dreamspace. Cobb has to deal with the eventual question of what is real and what is only a dream.

Troy was at best 3/5.

The main fight between Hector and Achilles was flawed because you were rooting for them both. Like Good Guy vs Good Guy instead of Good Guy vs Bad Guy. You didn't know who you were supposed to want to win.

It was like a Braveheart reunion except the actors from Braveheart were 10 years older andfatter than they should have been.

There isn't a big battle scene in the film that is actually entertaining, just big boring CGI shots.

Brad Pitt is stunning as Achilles though. Basically you are watching the film waiting for the next epic Achilles moment.

Orlando Bloom is just annoying in this film.

Helen of Troy the supposed most beautiful woman in the world is not even that hot.

The ending is just so unsatisfying and known before you even go to see the film.

Basically a film trying so hard to be a great big epic but coming up a little short.

13. Rocky Balboa
http://www.worstpreviews.com/images/rockybalboa.gif

When he loses a highly publicized virtual boxing match to ex-champ Rocky Balboa, reigning heavyweight titleholder Mason Dixon retaliates by challenging the Itallian Stallion to a nationally televised, 10-round exhibition bout. To the surprise of his son and friends, Rocky agrees to come out of retirement and face an opponent who's faster, stronger and thirty years his junior. With the odds stacked firmly against him, Rocky takes on Dixon in what will become the greatest fight in boxing history, a hard-hitting, action-packed battle of the ages.

12. The Hangover
http://moviebuzzers.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/the-hangover-the-hangover.jpg

Angelenos Doug Billings and Tracy Garner are about to get married. Two days before the wedding, the four men in the wedding party - Doug, Doug's two best buddies Phil Wenneck and Stu Price, and Tracy's brother Alan Garner - hop into Tracy's father's beloved Mercedes convertible for a 24-hour stag party to Las Vegas. Phil, a married high school teacher, has the same maturity level as his students when he's with his pals. Stu, a dentist, is worried about everything, especially what his controlling girlfriend Melissa thinks. Because she disapproves of traditional male bonding rituals, Stu has to lie to her about the stag, he telling her that they are going on a wine tasting tour in the Napa Valley. Regardless, he intends on eventually marrying her, against the advice and wishes of his friends. And Alan seems to be unaware of what are considered the social graces of the western world. The morning after their arrival in Las Vegas, they awaken in their hotel suite each with the worst hangover. None remembers what happened in the past twelve or so hours. The suite is in shambles. And certain things are in the suite that shouldn't be, and certain things that should be in the suite are missing. Probably the most important in the latter category is Doug. As Phil, Stu and Alan try to find Doug using only what little pieces of information they have at hand, they go on a journey of discovery of how certain things got into the suite and what happened to the missing items. However they are on a race for time as if they can't find Doug in the next few hours, they are going to have to explain to Tracy why they are not yet back in Los Angeles. And even worse, they may not find Doug at all before the wedding.

I will never understand the popularity of The Hangover. I didn't laugh a single time.

A suggestion for your writeups (though I know you're almost done): I noticed you tell us what each movie is about, but you don't tell us why you liked it so much. A little insight would make this list more personal.

I'm a massive boxing fan too but the final in the series is a mockery of the sport, imo anyway. The first two are good films, especially the first but from 3 on wards it went away from boxing and became an action movie within a ring. Nothing wrong with that, just can't see anything that justifies it so high.

Very happy to see this one here. It was an entry in my top ten for quite a while, and I was pretty much under the impression it was the greatest horror, Scorsese, De Niro, Nolte, thriller and water film of all time. I still like it a lot (not quite the best Scorsese film), but very happy to see it here nonetheless.

I felt Rocky's opponent in "Rocky Balboa" was by far the weakest. He looked liked he hadn't even bothered to get in shape for the movie, looked like a skinny weakling.

More great pics, Rep for Raging Bull, Manhunter and Platoon. Micheal Mann is still my fav director.

I feel that Blood Diamond and Hangover are a little high, probably shouldn't be cracking the top 50.

Mason Dixon is actually a professional boxer in real life (Antonio Tarver). Not all boxers are big roided up freaks. If you ask me Stallone looked like the one out of place in the ring. I like Balbao because it wernt all about his opponent, it was more about him, and where he is in his life now.

Yeah I know he is a real boxer, and I know that real boxers are not roided up freaks BUT, Antonio Tarver still looks like he hasn't worked out at all for the movie. He looks skinny with no tone, like no effort has been made to live up to Rocky's opponents of the past.
