Yeah, I know baseball doesn't have a halftime. Yeah, I know I should've posted this four days ago. Yes, I know my zipper's undone. It's all intentional, as far as you know.

Anyway, a quick rundown: the big story of the first half is the gap between second place and third. Mark and Dex have been going back and forth in the top two spots for awhile, but they're the only ones within a stone's throw of the championship right now. There's been a staggering 20-30 points between Mark and whoever's been in third pretty much the entire season. That's really huge.

After that, it's all over the place. Just 10.5 points separate 3rd from 7th, which means it's totally plausible that on any given day, any of those six teams could be arranged in any other order. At some point, someone's gonna have to hurdle that gap to keep this from being a two-horse race down the stretch.

Dex and Mark are studies in opposites. Like, in everything. Mark's pitching has been fantastic, and his hitting merely good. Dex's offensive has been explosive, and his pitching solid. Mark has made exactly one trade (and we were all shocked at even that), and Dex has made ten. Mark has made 25 roster moves, Dex has made 132. Mark's had the same team name every single day for all four years of the league's history, Dex has changed his several times each season. Night and day, these too.

There's still a lot of baseball, but we'll need to see some movement in the next month from anyone who wants to break away from the pack and actually contend. Obviously, it would be insane for Dex to stay above 100 points for much longer. A lot of his offensive ranks will stay high, but it's hard to reconcile his current pitching staff with his rankings there, so some regression is inevitable. But the lead in a number of these categories might be big enough to handle the backlash. I guess we'll see. He's still the favorite, though, and you'd have to take Mark-or-Dex against the field, probably at something like 3-1, too.

I got nuthin'. Just been that way most of the year. Started off pretty good but slowed way down and haven't picked it back up since. I have not had a stretch this year where my team has just really gone on a tear for more than a day or two and that's all there is to it. Need more production for longer. C'mon... give it to me!!!
