Obviously, if you love a band, you'll love the majority of their output, but there should a special handful of their songs that you rank above the rest. A particular group that sums up his/her/their quality as an artist and remain more memorable than the rest.

My favourite band is The Talking Heads and my ten favourites go something like this...

Number ten is actually just Thom Yorke by himself from his solo album, but I figured it counts since he is indeed the frontman. Plus it's a brilliant song.

I've notice that most of these songs are from the In Rainbows album, which doesn't get as much recognition as The Bends and Kid A, which are regarded as the best Radiohead albums amongst fans. But I have tons of love for In Rainbows and feel it deserves more recognition.

I bought 5 of his albums (Warren Zevon, Excitable Boy, Bad Luck Streak In Dancing School, Stand In The Fire, The Envoy) in a boxset a few weeks back, when I started listening to a few tracks from Excitable Boy.

Out of all those, I'd say Bad Luck Streak In Dancing School is my favourite of his albums, and after that it's between his self-titled debut album and Excitable Boy. Excitable Boy has some of his best songs ever, but overall, I don't think they work together to make it an overall good album. The Envoy is ok, a bit weak compared to others, and Stand In The Fire is one of, if not, the greatest live albums of all time (at least a tie with The Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense.

No, Permanent Vacation is ok, but there aren't really many songs in there that stand as my favourite. I like Rag Doll, which is a good, truly Aerosmithy song, and for all it's schmaltz and whininess, I think Angel is one of the better power ballads in their repertoire. Dude Looks Like A Lady (or the Dooby song, as I like to call it) has never been a good song in my eyes. Pump was better for me, because despite all the synthesisers and horns, it was still the trashy Aerosmith that I love at the core. All the cheeky double entendres, the funky riffs and the mad will to rock, its all there.
