Dog Day Afternoon
Bullhead - I hope I can see Bullhead in time. It comes out in two weeks, theoretically.
A Single Man
The Stepford Wives (1975) - very close
The Secret of NIMH
The Darjeeling Limited
Il Divo
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead
The Ice Storm
Tampopo
The Thin Red Line
A Clockwork Orange
Patriotism
The 10th Victim
The Thin Man
Still Walking - Tough choice; I need to watch The Thin Man again, for maybe the eighth time.

Man, I've got absolutely nothing to vote on here.
3. The Ice Storm
14. Tampopo
No contest. Nothing by Ang Lee has impressed me so far. Tampopo is a movie successful at blending different genres and is much more fun, especially the titillating seafood scene and the egg yolk-in-the-mouth game between a man and a woman.
6. The Thin Red Line
11. A Clockwork Orange
I consider The Thin Red Line to be Malick's greatest movie. Its profoundly deep and emotional at the same time, something many war movies can't achieve. However, Kubrick's film that stradles the line between art and violence is truly original for its time.

No contest. Nothing by Ang Lee has impressed me so far.
You're now dead to me.
The Ang Lee movies Ive seen:
Eat Man Drink Woman 3.5 Not enough time is spent in the preparation of food. Furthermore, I am uninterested in the lives of the master chef's daughters. Who cares about the Christian one?
The Ice Storm 3 Although it highlights some real points about suburban upper class families and their grip to communicate and understand one another, it does so in a rather mundane way.
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon 2 By far the most overrated and ugly Chinese movie. Honeykid, this movie is dead and cold in emotion.

Well I agree with those ratings in terms of like/not like. I despise Crouching Tiger but love the first two.

OK, Tyler, I didn't marry your ratings with what you said. I was thinking you were talking your rating for CTHD or lower.
I'm not a fan of CTHD either. Though I thought it looked wonderful, it didn't really do much for me. However, Ride with the Devil, The Ice Storm, Sense and Sensibility and Eat Drink Man Woman are all really good. I only saw Hulk because Lee directed it and I didn't care for that either, though it's probably the most comicbook looking film I've ever seen. That's not a good thing for me, but if you think you want to see a comicbook onscreen, I'd recommend Lee's Hulk, as that's exactly what it is.
Brokeback looked and felt like an Oscar film. I thought it should've won that year, despite that, I've only seen it once and I thought it was good, but not great or anything. Lust, Caution I've had on the shelf for years, but not watched yet.

Tyler, it sounds like you've had bad luck with the Ang Lee films you've watched. I wasn't really impressed with The Ice Storm either and hated Crouching Tiger.
I love Sense and Sensibility and Brokeback Mountain, though. (Honeykid, I would suggest giving Brokeback another try, I liked it more on subsequent viewings than I did the first.) Lust, Caution is really good too, and The Wedding Banquet.

Can't get hold of Tampopo, Bullhead, Patriotism or The 10th Victim unfortunately.
Of the films I hadn't previously watched in this bracket, I liked the ones I didn't vote for (Still Walking, Il Divo, The Stepford Wives) better than the ones I did (The Thin Red Line, The Secret of NIMH). They just happened to come up against films I liked more.

There are four I can vote on right now.
4. Il Divo
13. Rosencrantz & Guildenstern are Dead
-very close
3. The Ice Storm (I don't get all the hate for Crouching Tiger in this thread. Especially calling it ugly. As for The Ice Storm, I'm overdue for a re-watch but no way did I like it as much as Tampopo.)
14. Tampopo
6. The Thin Red Line
11. A Clockwork Orange
7. Patriotism
10. The 10th Victim
Well, I've seen Bullhead now, and it's a very good movie, but I'll wait to vote for now.

I have literally seen 1 of these 16 films, so I'm probably more than likely absent from voting in this one.

I'm so pleased to see A Single Man go through. Although sad that now it's up against another of my picks, Dog Day Afternoon and I don't know which one to choose...
