I'm going to leave Badlands/Deep Red for now. I'm not sure which way to jump and I've not seen Deep Red for a very long time.
BTW, which Pitfall is that?
This one (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0203612/).

Cheers, mark. I thought it probably would be, but as there's a '48 film noir of the same name, I could see someone nominating that, too.
5. Amelie
12. Sonatine
3. Badlands
14. Deep Red (1975)
Very difficult choice. I've nominated Deep Red for this tourney but I have to go with Badlands, a film that i will rewatch more times than Deep Red.
6. Pitfall
11. Das Boot

Not a lot of votes in this bracket. Wasn't there a 5 vote minimum rule last year? I guess we could be waiting a long time if we waited for 5 votes on some of these.
I'm disappointed but not surprised that Amelie beat Sonatine. I was surprised that The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie beat American Graffiti. I just don't really see what's so special about Jean Brodie, but it's been a while since I saw it. Any fans want to make a case for it ahead of the next round?

Re: Miss Jean Brodie.
It was up against American Graffiti. Which is crap. That's the reason. :p

Re: Miss Jean Brodie.
It was up against American Graffiti. Which is crap. That's the reason. :pWhile I agree I'll also say, in a nutshell, it was in an incredibly realistic grey area, in that the two main characters were right and wrong in so many ways, which precipitated lots of interesting discussion on lots of topics between my girlfriend and I
Ya know, maybe one day hk and wt will actually watch American Graffiti and SEE and HEAR what they've been missing so far. @#$%&*s! That's not to take anything away from Brodie, but anyone who votes for a title which doesn't even exist shouldn't be considered too knowledgable about the subject. Sorry, maybe.

Ya know, maybe one day hk and wt will actually watch American Graffiti and SEE and HEAR what they've been missing so far.I did watch it. Twice. I lived it too, for about three months. What? but anyone who votes for a title which doesn't even exist shouldn't be considered too knowledgable about the subject. What what?
4. The Prime of Miss Jean Brody
13. American Graffiti
I don't care anymore, but flippant comments (probably like some of my earlier ones) really feel personal sometimes. You lived one night in 1962 California for three months, huh? What drugs were you on?

You lived one night in 1962 California for three months, huh? What drugs were you on?If I remembered it wouldn't be realistic would it :p I just meant the themes were very familiar despite being a few decades apart.
I still don't get the "doesn't even exist" bit.
There is no film called The Prime of Miss Jean Brody.

I swear I havent heard of the movie The Prime of Miss Jean Brody until this tourney came around.
No one has. The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie is a very good film though.
