The Movie Forums PodcastBehold: the fourth (and fifth, sort of) Movie Forums Podcast! And a mere 32 months after the last one, too. That's how we operate: we lull you into a false sense of security, and then--BAM! 31 months later we strike.

We did something really special for this one: not only did I record at a moderately acceptable level of audio quality for once (you're welcome), but I managed to get both Holden Pike and mark f. on the phone together to help me go through the nominees. We had such a great time, and there was so much to say, that the entire thing ran near two hours, so we had to split it into two parts.

Normally I'd embed the podcast in the post on the right, but both halves are over 50 minutes, so it'd be way, way better if you guys just downloaded them. If you mean this one (http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-movie-forums-podcast/id306197266), the web-based page can take some time to update. Usually within a day or two, if I recall correctly. It's showing up in iTunes "proper," though.

EDIT: looks like they're up at that link now, too. Happy day.

Many thanks, guys. I felt genuinely great about how this came out and I'm really glad you all enjoyed it. And really, it was Mark and Holden's show; I was as much a spectator as any of you, and I really learned a ton. It's already given me the kick in the butt necessary to see several of the films we've discussed.

As for making it a tradition: that's up to both gentlemen, but I'm totally on board. Between the Oscar Picks and the live chat and the podcast, as well as Holden's written analysis, we've got ourselves some pretty awesome coverage of the event. I really look forward to it every year. :)
