Here it is, the introduction you have not been waiting for, but I assure you it is worthy of your time and notice, my friends. This is the story of why I am currently on this site - it is nasty. This story begins with a maniacal, evil-in-all-its-cackling, cookie monster named Digi :furiousdevil: - No, it begins earlier.
About 1 month prior to this post, I was a happy, fulfilled individual, but I wanted to be part of a forum, a family, if you will, of like-minded people with whom I could converse intelligently on the vast subject of movies. I Googled the word movie forums. There were many promising sites on the list, including this one, but there was another that immediately caught my eye, not realizing at the time that it was to be first mistake, I passed by this current site (How foolish of me) and subscribed to the other one, we will call this one :sick:. :sick: site was at first, like wandering off the street into a candy store. :rotfl: I marveled at the sheer volume and superior quality of subject matter. For a month I took :sick: site as my home, I even took a lederhosen-wearing protégé as my buddy out of the kindness of my heart, okay, maybe he was a sidekick (the ungrateful whelp hardly wrote back, but never mind). But then, clouds gathered around my happy land in the form of a large bulletin which suddenly sprung up when I logged in to :sick: site on that fateful day.
:eek::eek::eek:
You are no longer welcome to our family and are henceforth permanently banned from the kingdom. The reason.................
:goof::goof::goof:
I stared in disbelieve, B-banned? B-because of... Sock??!!??
"What in blazes is sock?" I asked.
In retrospect, I had fully perused the rules of said :sick: site and had never transgressed the boundaries of my sworn duties. They had no reason, no right to remove me from my home like some unsightly pustule, I'd never hurt anyone!
Enraged, I flew to the keyboard and did some investigating. I found that I had been removed by a moderator under the name of Digi, whose avatar is...the nefarious cookie monster.:furiousdevil:
I assure you, now, I've never stepped a toe out of line. No, wait... I did get into a heated battle in the versus column. I refused to sing the John Mclane anthem (by the way, is there one?), I mean I got nothing against him, he is entertaining, but I was provoked, they were bashing Indiana Jones in a desert and Jack Bauer in a crowded city. They dared argue that McClane would actually win against either of them.
Back to the point, cookie monster = my enemy :furiousdevil:
I regret that I was forced to leave my lederhosen-wearing sidekick behind. Who knows what unspeakable torture the evil cookie monstaa :furiousdevil: is putting him through as we speak?:eek:

Yep. I was banned from a forum devoted to the care of rats.
I've never had a rat, mind you. I went there because they banned a friend of mine for asking a question that had previously been asked by someone they considered a troll. While the question was some legitimate rat-rearing concern, the vague resemblance threw their moderation staff into a tizzy and they banned my friend. My friend was shocked, not being all that familiar with the internetz at the time, so I registered at the rat place to try to plead her case, and found myself in Banhattan.

I don't like rats much anyway.

Ever spend much time with any rats? They're great pets. (Just out of curiosity, was the rat forum GooseMoose?)
My exile from various forums has been largely self-imposed, though I was temporarily banned from a Fleetwood Mac forum, along with several other members, for protesting the behavior of one of the forum's moderators (who was showing obvious favoritism for some members). Once the ban became known, many other members protested our punishment and the ban was lifted, though many of us chose to leave the board. Others became targets for the moderation staff and were subsequently given permanent bans for other reasons. Not long after, the moderator in question stepped down, the entire forum was sold to a new owner, and the whole place went downhill.

I was fired from the Charlie Brown restaurant chain while training once-- they told me "You aren't Charlie Brown material", LOL
I'm sure I have, but I don't recall any specifics. If it's happened it's been a very long time.
I do remember arguing with someone about a TV show on Television Without Pity (back when it was called Mighty Big TV, I think), at which point I was sternly warned that you're not allowed to argue with people on that forum. I was just supposed to list my opinions independently, or something. Seriously. Left there as quickly as possible.
I've been 'escorted' out of a club by two female bouncers. Feet-off-the-floor style escorted. Does that count? ;)
(I also once had a bad reaction to some cheap prawn cocktail crisps while in the queue to a club, got inside the door, and had a small but marvellously pink vomit onto the bouncers right shoe. I was politely asked to leave. Hadn't even drunk anything! :D)

There's no reason for us to be here any longer than necessary. Let's split up, look for survivors, and get out of here!"

Ever spend much time with any rats? They're great pets. (Just out of curiosity, was the rat forum GooseMoose?)I haven't, and while I'm not wild for rats, I have nothing against them or the people who keep them as pets. I'm rat-neutral.
The forum had 'rat' in the title, but it was so long ago I don't remember the name of it. Their admin was so paranoid, I'd be surprised if they're still up.

I've no idea why you've been banned from somewhere else, as I instantly stopped reading anything on the net that tells me it's worth my time.
ATTT: Of course not! Who the Hell would want to get rid of me? ;)
*BTW, I know who's going to reply to this and you can just stop it right now.* :p

I was physically thrown out of a strip club once.
Does that count?
No. I mean...NO!:mad:
At THIS site, I had a family. We made a pact, I would behave and avoid breaking the rulez and they would benefit from my naturally crowd-drawing skills. I and currently captured lederhosen-wearing side-kick, whom we will call :scream: signed on to something far longer-lasting than some meaningless club.

The other day I did some more poking around at site :sick: and discovered the true identity of the evil Cookie-monsta-Digi :furiousdevil:, he foolishly left a photo of himself dressed up as Thor (wonder what bet he lost) He looks awfully buff, actually, sort of like Brad Pitt from Troy, but I think I can take him. That is, unless the torturing of said Lederhosen :scream: side kick has already revealed my criptonite of grape jelly...? :eek:

Ah, yes, controversy. You apparently do not understand what it is to be so suddenly cut off, or you would not complain, however, I digress, I am no longer a "Moaner" as you put it, All I want now are answers. :indifferent:
It may seem off the handle and overreacting to you, but take a moment to comprehend.
Yesterday I went looking for a friend. I know it was the wrong place to look, but I browsed the members list. It is a veritable matrix of user-names, most with zero posts, whose last visits were 2007...2004...2001... I have another name for the member list. It is a graveyard. People who signed up and never got anywhere or achieved anything. You may casually shrug, "Just some noncommittal individuals," you mutter, but I think not, they were people. Exiled, like me. Who probably were banned and could not gather the courage to go further than creating a profile. These bans hurt people. I just want to know that it is all necessary.

Because He expects them all to play cherubs at every Christmas pageant?
The people telling you to let it go are right, man. It doesn't matter if your cause is just (though I've noticed people who are banned almost always think they shouldn't be, so we can't glean much from that). The point is just that it serves no purpose to tell us about it or dwell on it.
We've also had, I should point out, other members in the past introduce themselves by grousing about being banned from some other place, and almost every time, they ended up revealing why through anti-social behavior that got them banned here, too. Perhaps this does not describe you, but you can understand our reticence. And I think we should able to agree that "exiled" is a pretty grandiose term. Even if it was grossly unfair, it's just a message board. Most of them are no big deal. Except this one, of course. ;)
Nobody's saying this to be mean, they're saying it so you'll enjoy yourself here, which is considerably more likely if you aren't talking about some bad experience on a prior forum. :) So just dive in and start talking about movies and have a good time.
