View Full Version : The Avatar Tournament -- Grand Final

DUN DUN DUN!!

Yoda
07-10-02, 12:02 PM
This is gonna be close, I think. What are ya'll using as your basis for choosing avatars? Whichever looks the coolest? Whichever suits the person who uses it the best? I'm curious.

sadesdrk
07-10-02, 12:08 PM
I voted for Yoda, because...well...aw, you know! :D

Sexy Celebrity
07-10-02, 06:24 PM
I also voted for Yoda.

It is definitely the best, most fitting avatar of the group and I have blessed it to win.

I didn't vote for Sadie because I'm not a Betty Boop fan, and she beat me in the last round, so she doesn't deserve to win. :p

I didn't vote for Mary, even though I like her mysterious looking avatar, but it's not as perfect as Yoda's, and she also never voted for me in the past rounds. :p

I didn't vote for Marcellus because while I do like his avatar, it's not the best "Fight Club" avatar, like mine. Hands holding the soap? C'mon! It's not as personal as the face of Tyler Durden.

And, I didn't vote for Holden because I've never cared for his avatar. It doesn't fit him and I'm not in awe with it artistically.

That is all.

The Silver Bullet
07-10-02, 11:18 PM
I voted for Holden.

I think it's another straight out deliberate attempt to act indifferent to the entire avatar picking scheme of things, and I also find it funny. It makes me laugh. It's the sort of avatar I would pick for myself, had someone else not already got it.

Mary's I like, but I don't think it's fantastic. Simple as that. :D

Yoda, nyeh. I find it hilarious that both Chris and Sadie have voted for one another's avatars, thus cancelling out all chances of one of them actually taking it away.

Yoda's is probably the second best on there, and I do like it [especially when compared with the ten alternatives he showed me once] but I don't like it us much as Holden's. I wouldn't use it as my own, it doesn't make me laugh as much. I don't know, I just don't like it as much.

I didn't vote for Sadie because I hate the Boop.
I didn't vote for Marcellus because I can't see how he beat me. No, not really. It's an alright avatar, but once again I simply didn't like as much as I do Holden's.

The truth comes out, it seems.

:D

Sades is perfect, but then again so is holdens, but with holden, sure he is smarter than the rest of us, but hes usually not funny.

Holden Pike
07-11-02, 01:18 AM
I'm not? Huh. Did not know that.

The Silver Bullet
07-11-02, 01:59 AM
I don't think Sadie's is perfect at all. At all. I will argue this to the grave. Sure, it might suit her, but there are plenty o'better pictures of Betty Boop than the terrible one she's adopted. Sorry Sades...

:D

I'm not? Huh. Did not know that.

Well, Mec, his comment just then made me laugh.
To each his own and back again...

I've never liked Betty Boop, not even the original Fleischers. I own some of those shorts as part of the "Fabulous Fleischer Folios" (genius stuff, much of it way ahead of its time) on LaserDisc, but I can't stand her. Never have, never will. I absolutely LOVED the way she was dissed in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.

ANYway..."And now, on with the Opera! Let there be dancing in the streets, drinking in the saloons and necking in the parlor. Play, Don."

Yoda
07-11-02, 08:56 AM
I don't recall much dissing in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?. If there was, perhaps it was so subtle that I completely failed to pick up on it. Anyhoo, I'm not a big Betty Boop fan either, but the fact of the matter is that it suits Sadie's persona perfectly, which is why I voted for it, basically.

The Silver Bullet
07-11-02, 10:01 AM
Anyhoo, I'm not a big Betty Boop fan either, but the fact of the matter is that it suits Sadie's persona perfectly, which is why I voted for it, basically.

Heh.
You don't like Betty Boop much and yet Betty Boop represents Sades perfectly?

That must have came out wrong, man.

I am laughing so hard at you right now...

Yoda
07-11-02, 10:03 AM
Dope in a suit. :p

I said it suits her persona. Not her. :nope:

Besides: it's perfectly reasonable to like something in one form, but not in another. Like a TV show, but not the movie based on it. Ya' dig? :D

The Silver Bullet
07-11-02, 10:09 AM
Cover your a$s a little more man, I think some is still showing...

Yoda
07-11-02, 10:11 AM
:nope: You're just p*ssed because you thought you "had" me.

The Silver Bullet
07-11-02, 11:01 AM
Sadie would have had you had you not so covered your a$s...

Yoda
07-11-02, 11:02 AM

I love how pointless this is. Seriously.

The Silver Bullet

Likewise.

sadesdrk
07-11-02, 12:08 PM
Hi.
I seriously LOVE getting over here in the morning and seeing all this stuff I missed out on. Dammitt!

On Betty Boop: It doesn't bother me that Holden, Jason and Matty don't dig on her, I don't really think she's the BEST representation for me...
I think maybe she used to be, back when I flirted with everything that posted. :p You know, she's kinda this dopey/goofy, sex kitten...Oh wait--Ah, nevermind.

Anyhoo- I went with Yoda. I would have picked Holden's second.:yup:

The Silver Bullet
07-11-02, 12:26 PM
You might have to yet...
Looks like it might be requiring a tie breaker...

How long until the poll shuts down?
Two or three days after it was opened, I believe.

Drought of votes, right now.

But would you really vote for Holden over yourself when it comes down to the nitty-gritty?

Get a better Boop avatar. I'm sure there are many around...

sadesdrk
07-11-02, 12:29 PM
I like the one I have now, thank you.

and yes, I would have voted for Holden over myself...I've always liked his avatar. :p

there's a pic of Betty naked...I know where it is...

Yoda
07-11-02, 12:38 PM
 I know where it is, too.

I like the current Boop, though. Very much. :yup:

jrs
07-11-02, 09:15 PM
I like the Smith avatar.

Yoda
07-11-02, 09:17 PM
Not an option. Vote! :p

The Silver Bullet
07-11-02, 09:49 PM
I dislike the current Boop avatar. It seems dirty and computer generated. Does that make sense? It looks like one of those terrible computer images you get in clip art. Like the ones sites were crammed with when the Internet was new. Like the Homer Simpson falling over one. Just yucky and crude.

No one wants yucky and crude!!

The one of her naked, when can you get it by?

Yoda
07-11-02, 09:54 PM
I know whatcha mean...I despise clip-art...doesn't look like clip-art to me, however. Just my opinion. I like this more than the last one...which was small and blurry. Besides; this one looks like she's pondering something. Much more fitting. :yup:

The one of her naked, when can you get it by?
Go get your own porn.

It's not clip art! I found it, it was full length and Chris sized it for me...so NUH!!

The Silver Bullet
07-12-02, 01:37 AM
I found the nude one.
And others.

Who would dedicate thier life to such a thing?
Chris said me. In ten years.

What do you think? Is it appropriate for MoFo?? :goof:

Yoda
07-12-02, 12:06 PM
Pfft. No. It's beyond PG-13, methinks.

sadesdrk
07-12-02, 12:09 PM
Methinks so, as well. Guess Matty is stuck with "clip art Betty". :p

The Silver Bullet
07-13-02, 12:24 AM
Damn. Nude Betty had nipples.
MoFo loves nipples!

Yoda
07-13-02, 12:27 AM
Really? A picture of a nude woman with nipples? What the hell? :D

I've extended the voting deadline by a couple more days in hopes of breaking the tie, by the way. Hope no one minds. G'luck to all.

Yoda

Rippling? I thought you said you had a blood disorder that kept your total body weight down? :D

OG-
07-16-02, 09:39 PM
lol, no thats just my manliness taking over my already manly body, because I am obviously so manly.

Sidenote, I hate that disorder, it makes my stomach hurt all the time:sick:

The Silver Bullet
07-18-02, 10:12 PM
I have a disorder...

....

...no, that's it. I have a disorder.

Mary Loquacious
07-19-02, 09:20 PM
Disorder. The toxicity of our city. You know what I'm sayin'? :D

Congrats to Sadie on her astounding victory! :yup:

Yoda
07-20-02, 09:02 AM
 I hate that song. I mean really, really hate it.

Mary Loquacious
07-20-02, 11:14 AM
Chris. I hate to have to bring up an ugly memory, but the fact that you own Eiffel 65 and listen to it regularly cancels out your remark about "Toxicity." :p

And I'm tellin' ya, that and "Chop Suey" are two kick-a*s driving-sing-along songs.

I'm talking loud singing and epileptic fits in the driver's seat. Top of my lungs, ma!

:D

Yoda
07-20-02, 11:21 AM
Booo. For one, I DON'T listen to Eiffel 65 regularly...but damnitt, it's European techno dance club music...that sh*t gets in your blood. I only listen to two of three of the songs, and even, then, rarely. So THERE. :p

Chop Suey is a decent song...I'll give you that much. But that's where it stops. The existence of that song actually makes me even more forlorn over the band in general, because it shows me that they CAN make good music...that the goat-looking dude CAN sing...

Bleh. That's the only word that fits my feeling on the subject.

Defensive? I'm not getting defensive! How dare you! You're getting defensive. Oh, wait...

Look at me! Look at me, people! I'm lashing! And not inwardly, either...outwardly! I'm lashing outwardly! Watch me lash! Lash, lash, lash. I'm lashin' it up.

I'm in a weird mood. I'd better do something productive with it.

Darnit! I wanted to vote for Betty! I remember the episode where Betty is driving and she runs into a family of hillbillies, and they sing and dance and be merry, and they give her some gas to go home. I remeber her dancing and sing in a high pitched voice. Doo-doo da doo. Doo-doo da doo. We still have the video.
 I know! We'll have a newbie avatar tournament! Yessss! HAHAHAHAHHAH! Take that Vincent Price!;)

Betty Boop cartoons are so cool! Seriously. They had Louis Armstrong and Cab Calloway in them, and I love all that old big Band stuff from the 30's! Cab Calloway was like the coolest human being that ever lived. The Blues Brothers stole a lot of their act from him, and he was still in their movie. That's just cool.

Yoda
08-03-02, 11:56 PM
I just like her voice, really. She's got a cute voice. She sings rather well, too.

Sometimes it's just so overwhelming. Ask Eve.

Gracie
09-23-02, 03:11 PM
I don't think in the history of MoFo has a thread stayed on topic. There's always a funny comment from Silver, and then Toose and Chris reply, and everything gets all discombobulated. Tale as old as time.

Sir Toose
09-23-02, 03:22 PM
But we're on topic... sort of. We're discussing avatars and the defacement of them. It's sort of on topic...
