Revenge of the Nerds ( We've Got Bush !!)

It’s been a pretty slow week for movie news. So I’m gonna review one of my favorite movies from my childhood. I remember staying up at night waiting for my parents to go to sleep to sneak downstairs and watch Revenge Of The Nerds on The Prism Channel. That’s right I said it Prism….. (brings back memories dosent it). For everyone reading that’s dosent know what prism is. I’ll sum it up quickly by saying it was a cable channel before remote controls and satellite channels.

This was one of those movies that gave birth to American Pie, Super Bad, this was the mother of all tongue in cheek movies, with slapstick comedy and of course Hair Pie. For all of you out there that don’t know what Hair Pie is just ask Boogar. This movie has one of the best panty raids ever, and one of the best pranks on women sororities ever. Hense the saying ( We’ve Got Bush!! ).

This movie also had heart though, basically saying it’s ok to be different, and that being different can actually be pretty cool. This movie had everything from being a kid genius, to being a black gay male ( lamar ) in the 80′s. It taught us that being a nerd wasn’t just having a pocket protector or thick glasses, but that there’s a little bit of nerd in all of us. Taking a quote from the movie ( everyones been pick on, left out, put down ) and in one way or another we are all nerds.

So if you feel like being a nerd one of these nights go out and rent this movie from your nearest blockbus….. Oh yeah I forgot the are no more of those stores that you happily got movie from but that raped you on late fees, but that’s another article. Get this movie from Netflix or wherever you can find it cause it’s a classic that no one should forget

Revenge of the Nerds was on cable a lot last year and although I had seen it when I was a kid, rewatching it last year was a brand new experience. I fell in love with it. I watched it a couple of times on TV and ended up buying the DVD. I still need to see the sequels. I saw part IV years ago on TV, but that was it.

I wouldn't really bother with the sequels like everything in life they are never the same with the exception of a couple of movies. Revenge Of The Nerds ll (Nerds In Paradise) is probably the only one worth watching, but it still wasnt the same. These are classic's which are always best watched on dvd on a late night.

Uh, what? I hope they aren't the same, as they would be the same movie and stuff. Also, what are you on about? There are PLENTY of sequels that are as good as or even better than the original film. Just quickly : Terminator 2, Aliens, X2:X-men United, Spiderman II, Godfather II, The Empire Strikes Back, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (not better, but just as good), Star Trek II - The Wrath of Kahn, The Road Warrior, For a Few Dollars More, Bride of Frankenstein (I like it more anyway, but I own both), The Dark Knight...

That's just off the top of my head.

I tend to prefer Terminator and Alien to the sequels, but just due to personal taste, and I think they are just as good technically, and better in a lot of ways. In Alien's case, I just tend to prefer slow-burn thrillers to action pieces, but I think most people prefer the second film.

Meanwhile, The Revenge of the Nerds stuff is pretty bad across the board IMO, but yes, I would think the first is the only one worth watching, if any. I liked them when I was a kid back then...
