Yoda, hard to believe, but neither Al nor Gene has a perm. They both simply have really, really weird hair.

And perhaps I do have a type. In my youth, I also had crushes on many other less popular celebs. Jack Wild, Tony Randall, Roddy McDowall... but Al and Gene have lasted the longest (since '78 with Al and since '74 with Gene).

Thanks, everyone! Turning 50 wasn't so bad today... but my forties were pretty awesome, so the fifties will have a lot to live up to!

Had a fun, self-indulgent day of thanking everyone on Facebook for the birthday wishes and then playing a ton of Minecraft and going out to dinner with my parents. Going out with all my kiddos this weekend (combo birthday/Mother's Day gathering). More fun!

Got a big spring bouquet in a purple frosted glass vase from a good writer friend of mine -- totally made my morning!

And then to come here throughout the day and see all the silly birthday wishes and crazy posts and attachments... You guys are so much fun!
